Hi! I'm Dr Alex, an Emergency Medicine doctor in the UK sharing what I've learned after almost a decade of working on the frontline, to help you avoid the preventable illnesses I see every day.
Simple, honest videos about the lifestyle traps we fall into, and how to live better, longer, and healthier.
And while I’ve got your attention, you may come across some obviously fake, AI-generated videos using my face and name. There seems to be a new channel every week, something that’s becoming increasingly common among YouTube doctors unfortunately...
Please be assured that I am not behind any of these and do not endorse any of the information coming from these quite frightening AI versions of me.
If you do see one, I’d really appreciate your help by commenting on the video and replying to others who seem to believe it’s me. Let’s spread the word and help prevent any dangerous medical misinformation being shared like this.
Thanks so much! And have a great day!
Dr Alex

HELLO VIDEO EDITORS!
Good morning from a very sunny Yorkshire! I’m looking for a video editor to join the channel long term.
As you can see, the edits themselves are actually very simple, mostly trimming and tightening my unedited talking-head footage in CapCut, rather than heavy graphics or cinematic editing.
Up until now I’ve edited everything myself, but I’d love to free up more time to focus on creating more content, especially shorter-form videos for those of you who prefer quicker versions of these topics.
It would be great to find somebody who understands the message behind the channel i.e. prevention, health, lifestyle medicine and helping people live better lives.
Ideally somebody already part of this community who enjoys the videos and would be excited to help grow the channel over the long term. But I'm open to everybody!
If you'd like to join the team and you use CapCut, please send examples of your work to: dralex.enquiries@gmail.com
If you're comfortable doing so, it would also be great if you could include a short video introducing yourself and talking a little about your editing experience, just so I can put a face to the name and get a feel for how you work.
Hope you all have a great day,
Alex

Thanks to everyone who flagged the audio issue in the latest video published a couple of hours ago. I just KNEW there was an issue with the audio while I was editing, I just couldn't put my finger on it...
Anyway, rest assured you're not going deaf in the right ear (as some of you mentioned...) The video is currently being re-uploaded with the fixed audio and will be ready to watch in the next 3-4 hours or so!
Many thanks again,
Alex

MICROPLASTICS! They are literally EVERYWHERE!
New research in Nature Medicine found microplastics and nanoplastics in every single brain sample tested. We’re not just talking about the environment anymore—these "forever chemicals" are inside our blood, liver, lungs, arterial plaque... even the placenta!
The most worrying part about this is the potential link to Dementia, Parkinson’s, and cardiovascular risk like heart attacks and strokes.
I’m dropping a deep dive in a couple of hours to explain:
✅ How they sneak past the blood-brain barrier
✅ Why your cutting boards and bottled water are hidden sources
✅ The daily habits to help reduce your burden and support your body’s natural clearance systems
Stay tuned—this is one you don't want to miss.

Hi everyone! For those who caught my latest video on triglycerides, you probably noticed I’m experimenting with a second camera angle. I wanted to add some visual variety (which a lot of you have requested over recent weeks), and also show the "AI doubters" there’s a real person behind the camera!
I know some of you follow creators like Seth Capehart who use this style with a second camera angle, but I want to know what works best for YOU. Should the side angle stay or go?
Best wishes, Alex

Good morning all! (It's 5am in the UK as I write this), currently editing a video for you about how to improve 6 key markers that go downhill long before symptoms of chronic disease develop (blood pressure, resting heart rate, kidney function, blood sugar, cholesterol, and liver function.)
I'm trying to understand you amazing people a bit better, and this comes from what a lot of you are saying in the comments... this may even be part of some research for a book which I may or may not be working on (a long long way off yet...) I'd appreciate you taking part in the poll below.
And on another note, I've noticed another spam AI channel using my voice and face. Again, I'm pretty certain there isn't a real doctor behind this channel...
You can do this quickly by clicking the link to the fake channel below, tapping the three dots at the top of the channel page, then “Report user”, then “Impersonation”, and typing in my handle: dralexwibberley.

I appreciate you all taking the time to do this.
Anyway!! I really hope you're finding my videos useful to improve your health. Here's a question that I'm very curious about...
What is the biggest thing stopping you from following a "perfect" health protocol right now? Hope you all have a great day! Alex

Hi! Lots of comments letting me know about another copy-cat AI channel called "Doctor Alex for Health".
I'd appreciate it so much if you could report this channel. You can do this quickly by clicking the link to the fake channel, tapping the three dots at the top of the channel page, then “Report user”, then “Impersonation”, and typing in my handle: dralexwibberley.
I've added the link below (on top of the other channel I'm aware of.)
It seems these channels are affecting the reach of this (genuine) channel, which is a huge shame as I'd like these videos to help as many people as possible without restriction. If you come across any other fake channels using my face, then please feel free to report them. It's very unlikely there is an educated clinician behind these channels...

On another note, I've recently gone back and watched some of my older videos... And I can kind of see why people thought they might have been AI....
I have to say, that I am not a naturally confident speaker. Getting in front of the camera and starting this channel towards the end of last year was a huge thing for me! I think with my monotonous way of speaking, plus the highly edited and compressed audio, plus my very bad colour grading on the footage, it's easy to see how some people were sceptical.
Everything in life is a learning curve. I like to think the quality and my way of speaking has improved greatly over the last few weeks. There is always room for improvement!
To all who show their support for the channel, thank you so much, and I hope you continue to learn from my videos.
Wishing you all the best,
Alex

Hello everyone! Hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter wherever you are in the world. Lots and lots in the pipeline for you.
As the channel grows, I’m sure many of you have noticed some “spoof” channels popping up, posting videos using my face and voice.
If you come across any of these (there are a couple live at the moment), I’d really appreciate it if you could report them. You can do this quickly by tapping the three dots at the top of the channel page, then “Report user”, then “Impersonation”, and typing in my handle: dralexwibberley.

This community means a lot to me, and I’m grateful for all of you helping protect it. I appreciate you more than you know.
All the best,
Dr Alex

Hello everyone! Hope you're all keeping well. So... I’ve covered a lot of topics recently around longevity, metabolic health, blood sugar, and cardiovascular risk.
But medicine is a huge field, and there are so many fascinating areas I haven’t touched yet!
So I’m curious.... what topics would you like me to cover next?
Men’s health, women’s health, brain health, sleep, mental health, hormones, joint health, my thoughts on supplements, cancer awareness, the state of the NHS?
Please comment with your suggestions below. What haven't I covered yet that you are itching to know more about? What is it that you don't fully understand that I could help with?
The ideas with the most likes are the videos I’ll film over the next couple of weeks! 😊
Best wishes to you all, and thanks for your help!

Hello everyone! Hope you're all feeling well and enjoying the videos. I’ve got lots and lots of ideas for more longevity and disease prevention content in the pipeline for you.
I know I can always rely on you to give really useful feedback, and I was wondering if you could help me out again.
You may have noticed that in my two most recent videos (Colon Cancer Symptoms and Squats), I included summary slides at the end of each section. These do take quite a while to create and integrate properly, and that time ultimately comes out of the time I could be using to produce additional videos.
So my question to you is this: what’s more important to you: having summary slides at the end of each section and uploading around 6 videos per week, or not having summary slides and using that extra time to upload 7–8 videos per week?
Really appreciate your thoughts as always. Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
Alex

Hello everyone! I need your help... Some people have said that the short visual clips at the beginning of my videos are distracting and unhelpful. Should I remove these, or should I keep them for interest? Hope you're all having a lovely Wednesday. Alex
