Welcome to the channel, everyone! 🇯🇵🇵🇭
First off, a massive thank you to all of you who have subscribed recently. It’s amazing to have you here!
For those who are new, I wanted to share a little backstory on who I am and what we’re building here. I’m an American who moved to Japan with my wife back in 2025. After spending a year studying the language and immersing myself in the culture there, we recently made the move to the Philippines!
The Mission:
My goal with this channel is to celebrate and spotlight unique makers, artisans, and creators across Asia, with a massive focus on bringing heritage clothing back into the mainstream.
It has always been a lifelong dream of mine to create high-quality documentaries and films. I’m learning and growing with every single project, so bear with me as the quality steps up with each upload! I’m incredibly grateful to have you along for the ride.
What's Next:
I’ll soon be opening up a Discord server dedicated entirely to this community—a space for everyone who loves this scene to connect, share their passion, and chat. Stay tuned for the link!
Thank you for being here, and welcome to the community! 🎥

New video is up.
I visited Sunset Dry Goods in Manila to talk with Ponch about what he’s building through the shop and his in-house brand, Johnny’s Wear-Alls.
This conversation goes into Japanese workwear, vintage Americana, selvedge denim, military-inspired clothing, deadstock vintage, and locally made Filipino garments. But more than the clothes, this video is about intention.
Ponch is working to make durable, well-made, historically inspired clothing more accessible to Filipinos who love heritage style but may not always be able to afford imported Japanese or American pieces.
We also talk about fabric sourcing from Korea, Japan, and vintage stock, designing for the Filipino climate and body type, and the role of local production in the future of heritage workwear in the Philippines.

I had no idea Evisu made such high quality denim when researching for this video. They definitely are the most LOUD out of the Osaka 5, but nonetheless an interesting story! What are your thoughts?
