Decades later, with less hair & fewer FM mics to rock, I’ve landed on the internets to work out my ‘separation issues’ with a medium I still love. If you drunkenly stumbled upon this channel, there's a good chance you dig it too. Regardless, so happy to share this touching moment.
The RadioDJ Dude (Hey, that's me!) not only refers to himself in third person (totally normal, not creepy), BUT also drops content about internet radio broadcasting...where all broadcasters go to die. :) We'll dig into my fav radio station software, RadioDJ. I have a bunch o' tips and tricks to share.
For decades, I snubbed my nose at online radio. "I'm a REAL radio professional." Ha! What's 'radio'?? In 2022, I finally launched an all 80s internet station, XXX80s. XXXtreme 80s fun and cheesy 80s DJs can be had at XXX80s.com. To keepin' mics rockin' around the world!

WOW! 😮 Google just dropped their most powerful TTS model: Gemini 3.1 Flash TTS Preview. Before we had two settings to shape the sound. Now, we have six!

🎙️ Reply: Thanks for that Breaking News update! This channel is a place for all voices...ignorant and enlightened. You know what's crazy? That 'news item' has been in circulation since 1929.
Yup, commentator Jack Woodford claimed, “In two years, at the present rate of [radio] advertising...we can dig a grave for it." Other industries on the receiving end of premature 'death notices':
Telephone - 1876: “Too many shortcomings”
Alternating Current -1889: “Nobody will use it, ever”
Brick-and-Mortar Retail - 2010s: “Retail is dead”
Is radio the thriving medium it was in the 80s? Of course not. Change is inevitable for every industry/person. Either adapt or vaporize. The corporate overlords, who control most of the transmitters, opted out of evolution. SO, many terrestrial stations pay the price.
However, there have never been more "radio stations" in history. Over 60,000 (and that's a conservative estimate)! For a medium "without a pulse", that's quite miraculous.
Do all those stations have robust audiences and fat rev streams? Of course not. Most are powered by what the iHeartLess types lack: passion and true love for the medium.
SO, either be consumed by the noise or feed the signal with something fresh and positive. Go forth and rock a mic near you...
