Florida Property Tax Amendment Heads to Voters in 2026

Florida lawmakers just approved a major property tax amendment for the November 2026 ballot but it is not the full property tax elimination Gov. DeSantis originally pushed for.

Here’s what changed:

✅ Homestead exemption would rise to $150,000 in 2027
✅ Then increase to $250,000 in 2028
✅ Applies to the non-school portion of property taxes
✅ Non-homestead assessment increases would be capped at 5% instead of 10%
✅ New Florida residents may have to wait before receiving the full benefit
✅ Voters must approve it by 60% for it to become law

Supporters say this could be the biggest property tax cut in Florida history and could help homeowners dealing with rising insurance, taxes, and cost of living.

Critics say cities and counties could lose major revenue used for police, fire rescue, infrastructure, libraries, and local services.

🚨Bottom line:
This is not law yet.

Florida voters will decide in November.
And if it passes, it could reshape the cost of owning property in Florida starting January 1, 2027.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX pay package might be the most insane compensation plan ever written.

Not because he gets paid for hitting quarterly earnings.

Not because he gets paid for selling more rockets.

He gets paid if SpaceX helps build a human civilization on Mars.

According to Reuters, SpaceX’s board approved a package that could award Musk 200 million super-voting Class B restricted shares if the company reaches two almost unthinkable milestones:

A $7.5 trillion valuation.

And a permanent Mars colony with at least 1 million people.

That is not a normal CEO bonus.

That is a civilization-level bet.

There’s also a second award of up to 60.4 million more restricted shares tied to separate valuation goals and space-based data centers delivering 100 terawatts of compute capacity.

For perspective, Reuters compared that to the output of about 100,000 one-gigawatt nuclear reactors running at once.

So SpaceX is not just pitching itself as a rocket company anymore.

It’s pitching itself as a launch company, a satellite internet giant, an AI infrastructure company, and potentially the backbone of off-planet civilization.

And here’s the real power play:

Those shares are super-voting Class B stock.

Public investors may get a piece of the upside.

But Musk keeps control.

SpaceX’s filing reportedly shows he would retain 85.1% of the combined voting power after the IPO.

So this isn’t just about Musk becoming richer.

It’s about locking in control over one of the most important companies on Earth and maybe beyond Earth.

SpaceX is reportedly targeting a valuation near $1.75 trillion for its IPO.

But the pay package tells you what the board is really betting on:

Not today’s SpaceX.

Not tomorrow’s Starlink.

They’re betting on Mars, AI in orbit, and a company that could become bigger than anything Wall Street has ever seen.

The question is simple:

Is this genius-level alignment…
