After conducting my “Feed the Algorithms” test, which involved using OpusAI to cut, edit and post 3 Short Form Vertical Clips a Day for 2 months I have the results.
Base Stats: Viewership (number of views) increased by up to 100%. Long form content viewership did not increase.
Watch Time (hours) increased up to 20hr/day.
Revenue (US Dollar) stayed flat. No additional money was earned on any platform for the increased views.
Positives: I had coworkers, friends and family members tell me they saw a video. This is the first time in 6 years that anyone local to me brought up organically seeing one of my videos.
Scheduling tool was nice, I was able to schedule posts to multiple platforms at the same time.
Cons: Videos were original content butchered into non-chronological AI slop. My intension was the be as fire and forget as possible but 1/3 of the clips were completely unusable, with the other 2/3 half usable. This meant having to watch every clip.
I had no control over auto created titles and descriptions until after they generated. They had to be changed for every post on each platform.
There is no ability to format for a series, and therefore viewers would be confused by the staggered uploads/ overlapping content.
Conclusion: Not worth the time 🤷🏻♂️
Screenshots from YT attached, I swear Meta and TikTok make their stat pages intentionally hard to interpret.
Input needed! I’ve got the Stage I tune for the CLS550 - but I’m not sure how to make the video. What would you guys like to see? I could walk through how the tuning process works and then take people for rides or I could be more technical and record some 0-60 comparisons?
Random update for you guys! You know how I said I wasn’t prioritizing content JUST for content anymore? Well part of that plan involves using OpusClip to tear up ALL our videos we’ve ever posted into short form clips. I’m going to take those clips, and beat every single algorithm into submission with 3 reels/shorts/tiktoks a day. So you may see a massive influx of posts that are all kind of randomly timed alongside the regular stuff I’ve been putting out. Consider this a Science Experiment to see where we are at the end of this year..
After five years of building projects, filming, editing, and pushing this content grind as far as I could — I think I’m done being a content creator.
This isn’t a rant or a goodbye forever. It’s just me being honest about where I’m at, what this journey has cost me, and what I want my life to look like going forward.
I’ll still be in the garage. Still working on cars. Still designing and fabricating parts. That part’s never going away. But chasing views and fighting algorithms every week? That’s not where my heart is anymore.
If you’ve supported OE Garage over the years — thank you. Seriously. I hope this video resonates with anyone who’s ever felt like they were losing themselves chasing something they thought they had to do.
We’re sitting at 4,903 YouTube subscribers, and I’m hoping to hit 5,000 by the end of the year.
5K might not seem massive in the big picture, but for a small creator who films in a garage after work, it means everything. It represents every build, every late night editing, every person who decided this channel was worth following.
If you haven’t subscribed yet, I’d truly appreciate the support. And if you already have—thank you for being part of this crazy journey. 💛
Hey guys, I don’t normally push for subs, likes, etc in the videos but this new hype feature could be a big impact for our channel growing. Been at this 5 years and I really want to see this community flourish - if you can hype just one of our videos that will make a huge difference in getting new eyes on the channel!
