It's truly heartbreaking to hear about the tragic fate of Killua, the golden retriever, and the cats who suffered starvation and were eventually consumed by their fellow inhabitants at the pound. Our hearts go out to all those who are enduring such pain and suffering.
In light of these distressing events, it's encouraging to know that steps are being taken to address animal welfare concerns. For one, the Senate is tackling Senate Bill No. 2458, or the proposed Revised Animal Welfare Act. This bill will strengthen our animal welfare law to ensure the humane treatment of animals in all aspects.
Let’s affirm our commitment to building a society founded on principles of kindness, empathy, and justice for all beings.
