His book, "Nothing More of This Land," weaves his own family's story as Aquinnah Wampanoag into a wider look at Indigenous identity, from Martha's Vineyard to communities around the world. Disability Justice Advocate and Founder of the Women's March Disability Caucus Mia Ives-Rublee says people with disabilities are routinely passed over for standard screenings during appointments, from menstrual cycle history to breast exams.
