Loss of equipment in war zones is inevitable. However, it is measurably better to lose unmanned vehicles rather than manned vehicles where the risk to life is significantly higher. The THeMIS unmanned ground vehicle poses a threat to the Russian forces, which was established when their CAST announced a 1-million-ruble bounty for the capture of the vehicle and later doubled the bounty to 2 million Rubles. The targeting of the THeMIS while deployed on the battlefield further emphasises this. We are actively working towards providing additional systems in support of Ukraine for when the request comes.

The Robotics and Autonomous Systems (#RAS) unit of the 13 Lichte Brigade of the Royal Netherlands Army conducted the first tests in April with the #Microflown #AVISA #CASTLE acoustic detection and localization system on the THeMIS UGV. These sensors allow units to detect, identify and locate enemy vehicles and weapons.
The CASTLE was installed on the #THeMIS UGV and driven through a variety of terrain to characterize the vehicle’s acoustic fingerprint. Further testing will be conducted in the future.
