Jeff and I met for the first time at a rehearsal that was held at our house with Danny Seraphine, Ed Roth, Bill Champliin, for a benefit for Thayer Family Foundation. We hung after dinner and rehearsal and I played him a couple of songs that were on my mind, one of which was a version of “America the Beautiful”. A lot of arrangements and songs sit with you and call to you over time and this was one of them for me. When I heard Jeff at rehearsal and I played him the song I asked him if he would sing it and he said yes, and here we are.
