Jim Curtis and I used to own a spa together. That was years before this book, before any of this.

When I asked him to write the foreword for Advanced Hypnosis, I wasn't worried about whether he'd say yes. I was worried about what someone who has watched me work over many years would actually say when given a manuscript to respond to honestly.

This is what he wrote: "Alexandra stands at the top of her field not just because of what she knows, but because of how she sees."

He didn't write that I know a lot. He wrote about how I see. There's a difference. The honor isn't being praised for what you've accumulated. The honor is being seen by someone who has known you long enough to recognize the actual work you do.

Sixteen years in, that's the recognition that lands. This means a lot.

For practitioners reading this who teach, mentor, or do session work: the people whose recognition will matter most over a long career are the ones who know you well enough to see the substance, not the surface. Build those relationships.

Quietly on Amazon now if you want it early. Official launch September 8, 2026.

I’m in a new chapter.
F the scripts. It’s time for real learning.

For a while I thought I’d write a book about the drama of owning a wellness spa. And there was plenty of it. But that was never the real work. The real work has been 15 years in private practice. Thousands of hours in session. Years of learning how to be intentional instead of reactive. Years of refining skill instead of relying on talent.

So I’m writing the book I actually care about. An advanced training manual for hypnotherapists.

No fluff. No scripts to memorize. Just tools, structure, and the thinking behind the work. It wasn’t luck that made me good and being awarded Best of NYC. It was reps. It was precision. It was learning how to listen, how to hold state, how to formulate suggestions that actually land.

This chapter isn’t reinvention. It’s distillation.

Coming summer 2026.

A coping mechanism isn’t a flaw.
It’s a solution your younger mind created to feel safe — fast.

The problem isn’t that it formed.
The problem is that your adult nervous system keeps running the same strategy long after the original threat is gone.

Awareness isn’t about judging the pattern.
It’s about recognizing when a once-protective response has outlived its purpose — and giving your system a new option.

Growth happens when safety is updated, not removed.
