Saying ‘I’m okay’ when you’re not is like a child stuffing their toys under the rug instead of putting them away. Sure, it looks clean for a moment, but eventually, someone trips over the mess you tried to hide. We do the same thing with pain. We tuck it away, smile through it, and hope no one notices… but guess what? Healing doesn’t happen under the rug, it’s happens after you put away the toys. Food for thought.
