Meet Mark: The Van-Build Truth-Teller. My biggest goal is to help YOU do YOU.

Stop following the crowd and start building a van that actually makes sense.

I’m Mark, and I’m here to help you navigate the van-build world with rebellious logic and 10 years of full-time van testing. My philosophy is simple: High-performance where it counts, high-street where it doesn't.

Whether it’s a commercial-grade Zeliox power system and Vandamoon engineering or common-sense IKEA hacks and B&Q domestic fixes. I cut through the myths to help you build a van that’s better to live in and smarter on your wallet.

With 5 years of experience with Clayton Power and now the NEW Eberspacher Zeliox NEO, I combine professional engineering with real-world grit. No fluff, no "leisure industry" scams, just the truth on what actually works.

Old Mam Tor road near Castleton has finally been given no parking lines. Double red too rather than double yellow. 🤦‍♂️ Absolutely gutted. I know the residents were angry but it was always a great crowd and it would fill the pubs and shops. What a shame.

We’ve been beavering away building our new ecommerce website. With the help of a little nano 🍌 and a healthy amount of Photoshop 🎨 here’s a little tease of one of the pics Mark has been working on. Even our Westie and Deerhound make a cheeky appearance RIP. ❤️

Happy valentines weekend everyone. I took a nice pic of katie over in #tawnystores in Marple kept her head on the middle of the frame. And then katie took mine. Making me look like one of the “Stott’s” from Reeves and Mortimer. Where’s true love when you need it.

Hope everyone’s having a great Sunday. We are still in Spain after travelling through France over the last 2 weeks. We’ve had everything from clear skies, wind, and deep snow. Wide sandy surf beaches to mountains. I couldn’t resist the classic Instagram shot of a sunrise with the doors open. No classic shot of a perfect beach bum in a thong, so you will have to settle for me in my pj bottoms.

Shout out to Jason. He needed a spare part for his Clayton install, he was local so we popped over took some other bits he might need and spent an hour talking about vans. Standard 😆
It’s lovely seeing how people approach their builds. This is a cracking base van. Ascot grey 2025 new style interior XP model. J has spent years building defenders but finally he’s got a proper car 😜 CJL pods were looking very neat and the lamps almost came home with me.

Happy New Year everyone. We hit three thousand subscribers over our Christmas holiday and we are buzzing. I genuinely thought only our mums would put up with watching us. Thank you for all the lovely messages this year. And the nice chats I’ve had on the phone offering advice and people popping over to say hello. It’s been so nice meeting new people with the same interests. Massive thanks to Katie for being on camera even when she doesn’t feel confident. Now back home to take the tree down before I’m back at the desk tomorrow. I’ve filmed the Highlands trip which has been a blast so I will pull and edit together this weekend.

Well I document all the nice things in life so I thought i’d document the shit news too. I’ve been having pain in my hands on and off for about 12 weeks. I just thought it was wear and tear and getting old or maybe overdoing it. But i’d also been feeling like I have a fever and a burning sick feelings in my stomach in the morning. Then my hands started setting in the night so in the mornings I would have to almost snap them open. If I knocked my hand it felt like it was full of broken glass. Then my shoulders, knees and kneck started to give my jip too. So finally enough was enough so I went to the Dr. After an ultrasound, bloods and xray I’ve been told I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Absolute shitter. It’s an autoimmune disease where the body attacks its own joints. My small finger joint is destroyed, I’ve bone spurs and some cysts due to the fluid.

As someone who gets joy from working with their hands it’s been tricky to get my noggin around. This weekend I struggled to open a new stanley knife and holding heavy bowls is a no no so it’s been quietly frustrating and a bit embarrassing.

Off to france tomorrow for 3 weeks so at least I’ll get some sun.

I’ve started a steroid for a few weeks to try and shut down the inflammation. As that is the key to saving future joint health. So fingers crossed they work. Or my fingers will be crossed if they don’t! 😵‍💫

If anyone has anything like above go and see your doc as the sooner you can, the more joint you will save. If anyone has RA give us a shout as I know there are “biologics” drugs that are the next step to try when I get home France. #rheumatoidarthritis

Big thanks to John for suffering my attempts at being a youtuber. We filmed part 3 of his lightweight build. Absolute gent. Absolute stonker of a drive on beach. I will hopefully get it edited this week.

Me and John need a medal for holding our bellies in none stop for an hour.

Slatted roof with inlay led lights for the T6.1. This is a roof styled the same as a SCA style poptop so leaves the cab headliner intact and the front roof beam giving more strength. Pin holes filled and varnished as we get this van ready for spring.
