Winchester Profession of Faith
I. We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament contain a revelation of the character of God, and of the duty, interest and final destination of mankind.
II. We believe that there is one God, whose nature is Love, revealed in one Lord Jesus Christ, by one Holy Spirit of Grace, who will finally restore the whole family of mankind to holiness and happiness.
III. We believe that holiness and true happiness are inseparably connected, and that believers ought to be careful to maintain order and practice good works; for these things are good and profitable unto men.

I barely here anyone talk about the unsung heroes of American Christianity the Circuit Riders. These great men rode on horse back preaching the gospel they are key in the history of the Methodist, Baptist, Universalist ,and many other churches. This film is about one of the greatest of them Bob Sheffey the Methodist he is sometimes called the American St. Francis because all the time he spent in the wilderness preaching the gospel. He is still known is parts of the Virginia's today. An old art teacher told me about this film and it's pretty good. I don't care much for the school that made it Bob Jones but overall it's good look at Circuit Rider life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NClEY...

I know Christmas day has passed but in the church calendar it's still Christmas. I remembered this great sermon on the Incarnation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEjGZ... I disagree with some of the progressive politics the priest endorses at the end. But its still a very moving sermon on the Incarnation from the tradition that focuses on it the most. In fact so moving one fellow says it made him a Christian so Holy Spirit must doing something here. God bless you all and Happy New Years.

To those interested in lay Universalist apologetics I would recommend A Universalist Book of Reference www.google.com/books/edition/_/8KradxgbrDgC?hl=en&… The Universalist Church put these out for their members in the 1840s and 1850s. I actually heard a Unitarian Universalist recommend they should still uses these because many people still have these questions today. I don't agree with everything this book says for instance the Bible Doctrine of Demons section. Thankfully Universalism today is more conservative today like it was in the 18th Century but flaws and all I still highly recommend giving this a read.

If you have not looked at the church map since it dropped or never at all. I would check it out universalistchurches.carrd.co/ I have added around 60 new Universalist churches since it dropped. I pray there is one near you. Or if you love Universalist history there are many new Universalist historical sites on the map now.

We must keep up the good fight in just a few months two major Christian youtubers have made horrible Anti-Universalist propaganda. First Gavin Ortlund https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W5uw... and now Trent Horn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaIzJ... . Honestly Fundamentalist make better videos against us because at least they primarily use the bible. They don't just copy and paste from the Devil's Redemption. The light of universalism is slowly spreading Thanks be to God.

I think this 1844 book is a neat find. Its a little library of Universalist writers from the 18th and 19th centuries. There are some big names like Elhanan Winchester, James Relly, Hosea Ballou and some people I have never heard of. Its also interesting to see the differences in different universalist schools of thought the three men I just mentioned all taught different forms of universalism. Universalism in the 18th Century was the most diverse in history more than the early church and today. Today we all pretty much believe what Winchester did.
