I was honored to join the Nevada Veterans Caucus this Memorial Day to pay tribute to the Montford Point Marines laid to rest at Boulder City Veterans Memorial Cemetery — heroes who served our country with courage and dignity during a time when they were still fighting for equality at home.

I also spent time honoring my grandparents, who are buried together at Boulder City Veterans Memorial Cemetery. My grandfather served in the U.S. Navy, and standing there reflecting on their lives, sacrifices, and love for family reminded me why service and community matter so much to me.

Memorial Day is about remembrance, gratitude, and honoring those who helped build the freedoms we have today. ❤️🤍💙

What does a “living wage” even mean anymore if people are still choosing between rent, groceries, and health insurance?

Too many working families in Nevada are doing everything right and still falling behind. A paycheck should mean stability, not constant stress over medical bills or whether you can afford to get sick.

We need leaders who understand that affordability is not just about wages. It’s about healthcare costs, housing, childcare, prescription prices, and whether working people can actually keep what they earn.

That’s why I’m running. Because Henderson families deserve more than survival mode. They deserve a real chance to build a future. 💙
