Uncle Matt’s Garage

I’m gonna start posting all the projects I get myself into related to Motorcycles and Machining . I have three vintage Dirtbikes to restore and I think it might be neat to show the world the process I go through , from basket case to out in the dirt and sand riding, along with various other bikes I repair along the way. I am a union diesel mechanic by trade , but I have been riding, racing and working on bikes for 26 years. Trucks pay the bills , motorcycles are what cruises me through life. I have worked in production machining , automotive and diesel shops in that order. I earned an motorcycle repair diploma online in my early teens, progressed to earning an Automotive and Diesel engine repair and machining diploma in High School, then went on to earning an Associates degree in Applied Science with a double major in Automotive and Diesel Technology. Chances are , if it burns a fuel, I have either driven, rode in or repaired it if it has 2 to 18 wheels. I hope you enjoy. Cheers

Uncle Matt’s Garage

So two of my friends and I are building this channel. I’m putting up some shorts as appetizers for what is to come. We are going to drop a couple full length Go Pro videos of some fun I had racing go karts this past weekend while I create the content for my buddy to edit. I send my other buddy pictures and he created an Instagram for the channel and you can check Out Uncle Matt’s garage there. This is going to be the first video series I post in the process of rebuilding a kx250. In order to rebuild the crankshaft, I have to make bolts for the leveling feet for my 1947 southbend lathe and then square the bed. This gives me the required accuracy to balance the crankshaft . Stay tuned for the the first video of setting the feet and leveling the lathe and then I will walk you through the process of rebuilding a two stroke crankshaft . Cheers
