Rare YachtLens confession: we didn’t publish a video this past Saturday. ⚓️🎥
Not because we slipped into a laziness vortex, tempting as that sounds, but because last week was packed with Anacortes Boat Show / Trawlerfest coverage and an extensive single-handed sea trial aboard the North Pacific 590.

Instead of rushing out something half-baked, I’m taking the extra time to turn the footage into the kind of coverage it deserves.

Coming up first: fresh walkthroughs and dockside coverage from Anacortes, with the North Pacific 590 sea trial also in the works once I work through the mountain of footage.

Quick question: Were you at the Anacortes show? If so, what are you most excited to see there?

We’re on-site this week at the Anacortes Boat & Yacht Show featuring Trawlerfest (Cap Sante Marina) and we’ll be filming walkthroughs, dockside highlights, and quick hit coverage all week. Plus the long awaited North Pacific 590 Skylounge, single handed sea trial... coming soon!⚓️🎥

While there, I want to aim the camera where you care most.

What trawlers do you most want to see from Anacortes?
A) True long-range passagemakers
B) Coastal cruisers (fast + efficient)
C) Expedition-style (rugged, go-anywhere)
D) “Pocket trawlers” under ~40’
E) Classic/heritage trawlers and refits

Comment A–E (or name a specific brand/model if you know it). If enough of you call out the same boat type, I’ll prioritize it on the docks.

🚤 LIVE FROM THE WATER — NP 590 Skylounge Sea Trial & Anacortes Boat Show

Today we're leaving Everett, Washington aboard the North Pacific 590 Skylounge and heading straight to the Anacortes International Boat Show this weekend. This isn't a dock walkthrough — we're filming a full sea trial as we make the passage.

This is exactly what you asked for in the comments on our first video.

We want to know: what do YOU want to see most from the 590 on the water?

Drop your answer below — whether it's real-world fuel burn, how she handles in a blow, performance numbers, what the helm feels like underway, stability in chop, or anything else. We'll make sure Evan addresses the top requests while we're out there.

The video drops soon. See you at Anacortes if you're in the PNW this weekend — hull number one will be on display.

🚢 How much REAL cruising boat can you fit into 36 feet?

We just dropped a full tour of the American Tug 362 aboard at the Seattle Boat Show — and we had co-founder Kurt Dilworth walking us through every inch of the boat HE helped design.

Here's what blew us away:
âś… Two full staterooms (yes, in 36 feet)
âś… A gourmet galley that embarrasses most 40+ footers
âś… Bow & stern thrusters STANDARD
âś… Up to 1,100 nautical mile range on 230 gallons of diesel
âś… 430W solar + Starlink-ready
âś… A davit system that launches & retrieves the dinghy without removing a single component

This particular boat is a working charter out of Bellingham, WA — taking guests into the Gulf Islands. And honestly? After this tour, we get it.

👇 Drop your thoughts below — is the American Tug 362 the perfect Pacific Northwest cruiser, or is there something you'd change? We're reading every comment!

Last Saturday’s video was the 1954 Trumpy “Liberty Love”… a floating piece of maritime history, with craftsmanship that’s honestly hard to find today. ⚓️

There’s a point in the tour where it’s clear this wasn’t built to look impressive. It was built by people who cared about doing it right, and you can see it in the details.

Quick poll: what made you think “they don’t build these anymore”?

A) Woodwork & joinery
B) Proportions & classic lines
C) Hardware, finishes & materials
D) Overall vibe & history onboard

Comment A/B/C/D and drop the timestamp for your favorite detail. Bonus points if it’s something most people would miss.

Midweek reality: the “final” cut was not, in fact, final. 🎬⚓️
This weekend’s walkthrough is the Targa 46—and it’s the most direct competitor to the Sargo 45 (which just blew past 400K views in 4 weeks). So yes, we’re absolutely leaning into the comparison.

Quick poll: if you had to choose one for all-weather cruising, you’re taking…

Comment A/B/C and tell me what matters most to you: ride/handling, build quality, layout/livability, or outdoor deck flow. I’ll make sure the video hits the points you actually care about. 👇

Lexus built a yacht. We were there for the world premiere!

The Lexus LY 680 just made its global debut, and we got exclusive walkthrough access with Austin Lin, President of the shipyard that built it.

This isn't a boat show glance. It's a full interior and exterior walkthrough of the first hull, answering the question every serious buyer is asking:
Is this Lexus craftsmanship on water — or just a badge on a Horizon build?

🎥 Watch the full walkthrough now — link below.

Where do you land on this one? Lexus influence or Horizon DNA? Drop it in the comments.

Big news: we’re heading to Kaohsiung, Taiwan, next week to cover the Horizon Yacht Open House and the launch of several new models. 🇹🇼⚓️🎥

This is going to be an exciting event, and we’re eager to bring coverage for the YachtLens followers. I want to hear what you’re most interested in seeing while we’re there.

Quick heads-up, YachtLens crew: no video upload this week.

We’re in full prep mode for the Seattle Boat Show next week, and I’m putting the time into planning shots, lining up walkthroughs, and making sure we bring back the kind of onboard details you voted for (80%+ on Monday). 🎥🛥️

While I’m there, what should I prioritize most in the coverage?

Drop A/B/C/D (or your own request) in the comments so I can aim the camera where it counts.
