MMA's Unofficial Fighter Scoring System.
The Fighter Index breaks down MMA matchups by scoring each fighter’s skills across four pillars to reveal their strengths, weaknesses, and paths to victory.
The Fighter Index measures well-roundedness across every phase of a fight.
Each fighter is scored across 16 individual attributes, graded on a 1–10 scale, and grouped into four core pillars of MMA:
• Fight IQ & Athletic Tools – decision-making, athleticism, stamina, resolve
• Striking & Stand-Up Defense – offense, clinch work, defense, durability
• Grappling & Control – wrestling, takedowns, top pressure, jiu-jitsu
• Defense, Scrambles & Ground Survival – takedown defense, submission safety, bottom work, transitions
It’s a current-state snapshot of how complete a fighter is right now, using the same criteria for everyone.
