Just a friendly reminder that, for the past several years, I've covered datamines, spoilers, and leaks on this channel for entertainment purposes and to get people excited about upcoming content. It's something I've always had a genuine interest in when it comes to Destiny 2 and Bungie as a whole.
I don't regret reporting on the alleged Bungie and Borderlands remake leak from 4chan in my Community tab. However, journalists at VICE and several other publications reported on it without contacting me, which has led many people to mistakenly believe the claim originated from me. As a result, I've seen comments saying that I'm "not a credible source," along with other weird comments, even though all I've done is stay in my own lane.
The reality is that almost everything I've covered over the years relating to datamines, leaks, and spoilers has proven to be accurate. I'm not sure where this stigma or perception has come from. A significant part of this channel's growth has been driven by its coverage of datamines, leaks, and spoilers, which I believe reflects the consistency and quality of that reporting.
As for the 4chan leak, I didn't ask journalists or anyone else to share it on Reddit or other platforms. That was entirely their own decision, and also a reflection of their own journalism to rush out an article.
If I come across something that genuinely piques my interest, I'll either make a video if it's substantial enough or, I will post it in the YouTube Community tab so people can discuss it.
I was the first content creator in this space to come across and share the Borderlands remake leak. I simply reposted what I found. It can't be verified at this stage, but I still think it's interesting, and there's always a possibility that it's legitimate. For that reason, I'll be leaving the post up.
One last thing I wanted to mention: the X (Twitter) account using my handle, Trance_OCE, is an impersonator. I have not held that handle in several years.
If you look at the account details, you'll see it was created in the United States, whereas I live in Australia. If you expand the profile picture, you'll also see that it was taken directly from my YouTube channel (background videos displayed, etc).
Bungie and Sony are currently in early discussions with 2K and Gearbox about remaking the original Borderlands as a Destiny-style looter shooter. From what I’ve been told, the project was pitched as an open-world game just like BL4 and seasonal paid content, with plans to move away from the traditional main characters in favor of semi-customizable protagonists, similar to the system used in Destiny and Borderlands 4.
If the deal goes through, Gearbox would also develop a remake of Borderlands 2 as a limited-time exclusive for the PlayStation 6.

⁃ Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney has implied that AI could “enable games like Destiny to thrive”. ⁃ Sweeney replied to a report on Destiny 2 with, “If only some sort of newfangled technology could come along and make it possible to overcome bullet point #1 and enable games like Destiny to thrive!” ⁃ Sweeney has recently gone on the record saying that he believes it is “really irresponsible” of Steam to make studios disclose AI use.
