As I sit in the comfort of my home safe , sound and healthy with no cool New year plans or resolutions, with just a prayer to God to keep showering his kindness and mercy . I have gratitude in my heart for days spent so far on earth .

You wish to control or cure your PCOS then these are the tips I have for you

1) Acceptance- we all have our share of problem. In your case it is PCOS . It is a chronic condition and it needs a life long โ€˜ managementโ€™ just like a diabetic or someone with hypothyroidism needs.
2) understanding - you have insulin resistance, which means you have increased insulin levels in body . So whatever you eat which has carbohydrates gets converted to fat easily.
Your male hormones are raised in the body which causes increased body , facial hair, hair fall and increased fat over your belly.
3) let us be realistic about the available management options. This condition can ONLY be CONTROLLED not cured.
4) you can control it by LIFESTYLE and MEDICINEs
5) There is no magical diet for PCOS.( sorry to disappoint but there is none . You have to eat healthy food all your life and that is all about it)
6) Follow healthy principles of eating. If you are overweight lose weight by being in calories deficit . Eat 300 to 400 KCAL less than your daily requirement.For every 7000 KCal deficit you will lose 1 Kgs.
7) Eat the macronutrients ie protein, fat and carbohydrates as needed by your body based on your physical requirement. It will be different for every human being. So a standard one size fit all diet doesnโ€™t work .
8) Exercise atleast an hour a day , 5 days a week. Any moderate to high intensity exercise is good.If you incorporate resistance training you will have muscles and you will get lean. Muscles help lose fat faster.
9) Eat diet which decreases inflammation in your body - green vegetables, fruits, whole grains rather than processed food, seeds.
10) Dairy and meat increases inflammation in body. Thus it is recommended to minimise or moderate itโ€™s usage.
11) Sleep 8 hours a day
There is nothing more to PCOS lifestyle than what any female who wishes to lead a healthy life needs.
