I was going through some older footage stored on my desktop computer. Since I mostly use my laptop these days, I rarely turn the desktop on, and I never delete any of my footage. While reviewing some old recordings, I came across something very interesting that I had never noticed before. This footage was captured using a thermal camera in Black Hot mode, and there appears to be an unusual shape or anomaly visible in the video. It's amazing what you can find when revisiting old evidence years later. Take a look and let me know what you think you're seeing!

Out on a powerline trail conducting thermal imaging research.

During this session, I carried the handheld thermal camera while walking the corridor and recorded continuously. Thermal technology allows us to detect heat signatures that are completely invisible to the naked eye, adding another layer of documentation to our field work.

When reviewing footage, I slow everything down to 0.25 speed. At normal speed, subtle or brief thermal anomalies can easily be missed. It takes a long time to go through the video this way, but careful analysis is part of serious research — and sometimes that extra patience is worth it.

These images are snapshots taken directly from the recorded footage. I will be putting together the full video soon for a more detailed look.

This particular sweep was done during the daytime. At the time, I did not hear or visually observe anything unusual. That’s exactly why we use tools like thermal imaging — to document what our natural senses may not detect.

We continue our research knowing there is still so much about our world — and possibly beyond — that we do not yet fully understand.
