Welcome to a different kind of Cities: Skylines II channel — where city-building meets storytelling.
Here, we don’t just construct roads and zones. We build fictional nations, craft historical timelines, and shape living worlds with layered narratives. Each episode blends modern city-building techniques with imagined histories, using AI-assisted storytelling, period-inspired visuals, and custom lore.
The result? Cities that feel like they’ve always been there — with plazas that once held colonial ceremonies, ports that evolved from fishing villages, and neighborhoods shaped by centuries of change.
If you're into immersive builds, alternate history, narrative design, or just want to see Cities: Skylines II pushed beyond simulation — you’re in the right place.

Hey, Just a quick heads up. I just uploaded a video and realize it had a big glitch in it. I'm just repackaging it and reuploading. It should be back up in a couple of hours.

Just a quick heads up here.
Of course, like usual, my game completely broke with the last patch and hotfix. The problems took a little longer to track down and required rebuilding the playsets from scratch. I think I finally have the game back in a pretty stable state again and should have new episodes out next week. Sorry for the delay.

Hey Everybody!
I'm currently working on Redmont and I've started building a small farming community outside of town. It needs a name and I'm open to suggestions, something that fits the vibe for the Redmont region. If you have any ideas let me know.

Just a heads up for anyone who downloaded the map. It looks like it's bugged. It seems most people who uploaded custom maps with custom surfaces are having the same issue. I've pulled it down till I have some time to look into it. Sorry if it's causing any issues for anyone.

I'm also using Real Vision Decals which you can also find on the Mod Store. I'm just using an locally installed version. I also have decals I've made myself which as of yet are not on the mod store. These are mostly the custom advertisements you might see scattered throughout the city.

Hey everyone, quick update on what’s been going on.
Right now, I literally can’t play Monte Palma. Recent game updates broke some critical mods that my city depends on, and at the moment I can’t even load the save into the game. So this isn’t a case of things being unstable or halfway broken, it’s simply not accessible at all right now.
Because of that, Monte Palma is indefinitely postponed until I know more about whether those tools are coming back, getting replaced, or if there’s any safe way forward. I don’t want to speculate or make promises I can’t keep, so for now it’s a waiting game.
That said, I’m not just sitting still. I’ve started spinning up a new project, but it’s very early days. I’m still experimenting, still building a map, still figuring out what it even wants to be. So it’s going to take a bit of time before there’s anything ready to show.
I know this is frustrating, especially if you’ve been following Monte Palma for a long time. Believe me, I feel that too. As soon as I have solid news one way or another, I’ll share it.
Thanks a lot for the patience and for sticking with the channel.
If you have any questions or need some clarifications, feel free to ask.

There has been a lot of news around Cities Skylines 2 this week, and I wanted to take a moment to explain what it means for the Monte Palma series and what my plans are moving forward.
Short version: the work continues normally. My goals for the project have not changed, and the current state of the game does not prevent me from building what I need to build.
Cities Skylines as a franchise has always relied heavily on the creativity of the modding community. Most of the longevity of the first game came from modders and asset creators who kept adding life and variety long after official development slowed down. If we get access to the asset editor in any usable form, even a beta, the community will be able to start bringing over new buildings, new styles, and all the unique pieces that help a world like Monte Palma feel real. That part is encouraging, not discouraging.
My focus has always been world building, atmosphere, and storytelling rather than relying on the game’s systems alone. Monte Palma is driven by the history, the visuals, and the narrative that tie everything together. As long as I can construct the spaces I need, capture them, and weave them into the larger story, the project is on solid ground. The recent changes around development do not affect that core process.
I am still able to build, film, and create exactly what I need with the tools that are available right now. And as new tools, assets, or modding options appear, Monte Palma will only benefit from them.
Thank you for following the series and supporting the project. There is still a lot more to build, explore, and uncover, and I am looking forward to showing you the next chapter.
If anyone has questions about any of this, or if you have thoughts or concerns about the direction of the series, feel free to leave a comment. I always read them, and the feedback helps me shape the project as it grows.

Here's a closer look at both the flags for you to check out.

Thank You to everyone for their suggestions for a national flag for Monte Palma. There seemed to be two main themes that were of interest. One flag reflecting the colonial history of the country while the other imagining a more modern take. Can't wait to see how everyone votes!

Monte Palma Needs A National Flag!
I got a couple of questions from viewers asking if Monte Palma has a national flag, and that made me realize something kind of major: it doesn’t.
Because I jump around between different time periods when building Monte Palma, the flags that appear in-game will represent the modern nation as a whole. I haven’t explored much of that modern history yet, so a proper national flag hasn’t really taken shape. I’ve made a few attempts on my own, but nothing I’ve been satisfied with, so I thought it might be fun to open this up to everyone.
We’ve spent months building cities, ports, refineries, postcards, and layers of history, but at some point in the 1960s or early 1970s this country would have needed a modern flag. That’s the next piece of the world I want to create, and I’d like to do it together with you.
I’m looking for your ideas and theories:
What colors feel right for Monte Palma?
Should the flag have symbols, maybe a lion, waves, or a sun?
Does it include a coat of arms or stay simple and graphic?
If there is a coat of arms, what belongs on it? Something from Monte Palma’s past, like a lighthouse, a palm branch, the sea, or the refinery towers?
Once I gather everyone’s suggestions, I’ll cook up a few design drafts and post them here for a community vote to decide which one becomes the official flag.
Let’s make this a proper national debate in true Monte Palma spirit.
Drop your ideas in the comments!
