Near the end of the book of Tobit, we read that the fall of Nineveh will fulfill the prophesy of Jonah. If Tobit dates to the 3rd century BC, why would Tobit cite Jonah? Nahum has a far more clear prophesy of the fall of Assyria. If Tobit is actually by someone from one of the exiled Northern tribes though, they would not have had access to a southern prophet like Nahum. The only prophets cited in Tobit (Amos and Jonah) are Northern kingdom prophets.

This also means that Jonah must predate the 7th century as well, defeating its late dating by modern scholars.
