🚨 Chance (Abandoned LGBT Scientologist) UPDATE - Tues 10/1 @ 11:45am: I know a lot of you are wondering how Chance is doing and what the latest update is. For those of you who may not know the full story yet: Chance is a 22 year old gay Scientologist who was kicked out onto the streets with just $12 to his name. He reached out to me for help last week. I’ve been sharing updates through community posts and videos over the past few days, so if you haven’t caught up yet, you can check those out on YouTube.
I’m planning to film another video after I stop by Starbucks today. Typically, it takes me about 2-3 hours to get the video rendered and uploaded. On Sunday afternoon, I drove Chance to the airport around 2pm, and he flew out at 4pm, headed to Denver! I’m happy for him, but I’m also a little sad that I can’t keep an eye on him like I could before when he was just 20 minutes away. That said, he let me know he arrived safely in Denver, where his friend and new roommate picked him up at the airport. He’s now settling into his new place, and his rent is $550/month. The amazing news is that Aaron Smith Levin from the SPTV Foundation pledged to cover his first month of rent! I’ll be following up with both Chance and Aaron to make sure everything goes smoothly with that.
Now, let’s talk about the Aftermath Foundation. While I was helping Chance, all I got from them were texts asking me to remove comments I made about them and Bruce Hines. All I did was tell the truth: the Aftermath Foundation didn’t help Chance. They didn’t provide a penny or a single resource. You’d think they would check in to see how Chance was doing or if he needed anything, but nope. The only thing they cared about was their reputation. I’ll be showing you those texts straight from my phone in my next video, so you can see for yourself what their priorities were.
As for Aaron, we’ve had our differences in the past, but I put that aside to make sure Chance got the help he needed. If I hadn’t reached out to Aaron, he wouldn’t have stepped up with nearly $1,000 worth of support, which included a $200 flight, $300 in cash, and the $550 rent. I’ll be sharing all of this in my upcoming video, complete with a text scroll showing the exchanges between me and both foundations.
Oh, and here’s a funny side note: Stefani Hutchinson made 2-3 Reddit posts calling me a liar before my video with Chance even went live. She claimed Chance didn’t exist and that I was making it all up to grift money off a fake person. She also said Bruce Hines wasn’t involved with the Foundation, which she used as “proof” that I was lying. But guess what? Once my video with Chance went live, suddenly they did find his application! She’s still got these posts up, with people making up random claims about me—saying I drive an $80,000 Mercedes, come from a wealthy real estate family, and that I’m divorced from my husband. Just to clear that up: I don’t have a relationship with my family. My mom has a real estate license, but I haven’t spoken to her in seven years. And as for my husband, Jeff and I just celebrated 11 years of marriage. It’s honestly ridiculous the stories people came up with to make it sound like I’m uber wealthy and should have supported Chance financially all on my own. They also said I should have allowed Chance to live in my home, but how I wouldn’t want to “get my carpet dirty” by doing so. I can raise thousands of dollars for him, which prevented him from being homeless, but I’m still being blamed for not doing even more on SPTV Unvarnished.
Stefani even had the nerve to email me, asking me to clear the air about her because of things people were saying about her talking crap about my late friend, ex-Scientologist YouTuber Doug Kramer. Really, Stefani? In the middle of me helping someone who was kicked out of Scientology with nothing but $12, you want me to clear your name? No thanks. You got in the way of my initial fundraising for Chance because you claimed I was lying and casted doubt in the minds of your crazy supporters. So no, I won’t be “correcting the record” for you.
Anyway, what’s most important is that Chance is safe. He’ll be sharing his own update in my upcoming video, where he’ll personally thank everyone who’s helped him so far. I’m waiting to hear from him today (I don’t want to blow up his phone, I know he needs some space and freedom). I had planned to upload the video yesterday, but I crashed due to my own health issues. As many of you know, I’m dealing with dozens of tumors and severe chronic pain, so it was honestly a miracle I was able to function enough to help Chance at all. My longtime followers know I’ve been mostly MIA from YouTube because of my health struggles, but I’ll have the video up by the end of the day today.
And this isn’t over. I want to keep fundraising for Chance so he can afford the medications he needs. I’m also looking for a therapist in Colorado who can work with him for free, and maybe even a legal resource to help him recover some money or cancel his credit card charges. He could also use some clean clothes and toiletries. If you’re able to contribute financially, that’s amazing, but even just sharing this video and spreading the word would help a lot. Let’s keep working together to get Chance the help he needs.
Thank you guys! I’m so proud of everyone who helped 💙
🚨 BIG UPDATE on Chance ‼️ Addressing common questions, concerns, and clarifying the involvement of two charities (Aftermath & SPTV Foundation). I wanted to take a moment to update everyone on how much we raised, what’s happening with Chance now, and what he has planned after being kicked out onto the street by Scientology.
First off, I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart on Chance’s behalf for the incredibly generous donations. I honestly never thought we’d raise so much money in just 48 hours. Thank you to everyone who stepped up and sent an urgent donation for Chance. We raised approximately $2,000!! I could see the difference on his face when I saw him today. When we first met, he was broken, sad, and scared—I’ll never forget the look in his eyes. Today, though, he seemed so much brighter, more relaxed, and genuinely happier. It eased my mind knowing that the security we all helped provide gave him some peace. I can’t thank you enough! I also want to thank everyone who reached out, shared posts and videos, found resources, contacted others who could help, and supported me as I navigated this as a one-man show. I’m not a social worker and have never handled a situation like this before. So to everyone who gave suggestions, ideas, and help—thank you!
As for an update on Chance, I picked him up this morning and took him to Starbucks. We filmed a video update where he wanted to personally thank everyone and answer some of the common questions. I need to take care of myself (chronic pain related) so it may not get uploaded until sometime tomorrow. Afterward, I dropped him off at the airport for his flight to Denver!
Aaron Smith-Levin of the SPTV Foundation purchased his flight and gave him $300 in cash before the Mangotologists donated money. Although I thanked Aaron via text, I want to publicly acknowledge him here for stepping up so quickly! Chance also shared that Aaron is working on covering a month of his rent ($550/month), which is in the works. As mentioned before, Chance had been living in Denver and feels comfortable there, wanting to distance himself from LA and Scientology’s heavy presence. He found a friend who used to be his roommate and offered him a room for $550/month. With over $2,000 now in his pocket, Chance is less stressed about his immediate future as he looks for a job and waits for paychecks. I’m so proud of this community for providing such impactful help to Chance, and honestly, I’m proud of myself for spending hours every day organizing everything!
Now, regarding the two Foundations: I reached out to both in a state of desperation, without affiliation to either. I wanted to get Chance help as fast as possible, and I was willing to put aside any differences or feelings with critics involved to ensure he got what he needed. Chance believed he was denied by the Aftermath Foundation for “not having references” (this was about 3-4 weeks ago when he was seeking assistance to escape Scientology with some resources lined up, which is the smart way to do this—leave with a plan, not just blindly). Unfortunately, the cult kicked him out after investigating him and forcing him to hand over his phone, where they discovered he had been in contact with Suppressive Persons (his mom and grandmother) and saw explicit messages with men on Tinder. Chance is understandably embarrassed by this but felt I needed to clarify since there are lies being spread. They accused him of “Suppressive Acts”—being gay, talking to SPs, making Reddit posts, and contacting the Aftermath Foundation.
Since I figured Aftermath had denied him, I reached out to the SPTV Foundation. Aaron responded within 12 hours and spoke to both me and Chance, confirming Chance’s story was true and horrific. Aaron immediately helped, securing a flight to Denver, giving him $300 in cash, and now working on paying a month’s rent for him. For that, I am deeply grateful. Let me be clear: I have no ties to Aaron, SPTV, or Aftermath. What has Aftermath done? They’ve texted me, demanding I remove posts where I talk about them, asking me to delete comments about Bruce Hines, etc. I’ll show screenshots of these messages in a future video. But instead of asking how Chance is or offering any help, they’ve stalled, delayed, and provided zero assistance—no money, no advice. Their mission is to help people escape Scientology, yet here was a homeless man with $12, and they did nothing. I’ve never spoken ill of them, only stated the truth. They even shared information about a private applicant (Chance) with a random person on Reddit, which is highly unethical. But again, I’m not tied to any of these groups. The most help has come from you all and me, raising thousands of dollars for Chance.
Chance will answer more questions on video, but until I get that edited, here’s a bit more background. He was a staff member (not Sea Org, just regular staff) at the Denver Org when he got a call in January from LA asking him to join the Sea Org after being in Scientology since 2022. They flew him to LA on a one-way ticket, and after a few weeks, he blew (left without notice). They sweet-talked him in late August to come back and join the Sea Org, praising his high IQ and potential. He signed a Sea Org contract and flew back to LA. However, he started second-guessing everything and panicked. He found my “gay in Scientology” TikToks (I have 60,000 followers there) and messaged me on Instagram for help. He wasn’t some homeless guy getting recruited—he had prepaid accommodations at the Scientology hotel, expecting to move into Sea Org housing after completing the Purif (which took weeks and maxed out his credit cards).
I’ve been criticized for my appearance, told to house him myself, called a liar and a grifter—all because I answered an Instagram message from a young man with $12 and nowhere to go. In over 10 years, I’ve never had a fundraiser. I’ve been one of the OGs exposing Scientology before Going Clear, Leah Remini, or Louis Theroux’s documentaries. I’ve never scammed or defrauded anyone. I helped Chance because I saw myself in him, and no one else had stepped in until I did. To the small minority who are criticizing: please stop. This is someone we should rally behind to help restart his life. Whether you like me or not, I was the one he came to, and in two days, we prevented him from being homeless.
If you’d still like to help, here’s how to donate:
• Venmo: @StevenM91 (security code: 8408) preferred • PayPal: talentmailings@gmail.com (You’ll see “Talent Mailings,” which is correct)
I’ll keep everyone posted on his progress and update you when he gets to his new home in Denver!
In the comments, please write supportive messages to Chance. I told him I’d request this from everyone so he can read the comments here when he feels down to see how much love & support there is right now for him around the country & even internationally.
🚨EMERGENCY HELP! Update!! For those who may not know, a 22-year-old closeted gay member of LA Org was kicked out by Scientology while he was in the process of joining the Sea Org. He was living at their Fountain Hotel property, and over time, Scientology drained him of all his money and maxed out credit cards they had taken out in his name. He was kicked out of their hotel and onto the street for “Suppressive Acts” (he was making Reddit posts about his need for help, they found out he was gay after they went through his phone…) He found me through YouTube and TikTok after I shared my own story of being a young, gay Scientologist who was scammed.
I woke up today deeply moved by the incredible support from this community. I’m truly blown away! Since posting about his situation, we’ve raised $634.36, which he now has in his possession. I’ve written back to most donors and will personally thank each of you today after I finish the video I filmed with him. We plan to meet up again today or tomorrow. I never expected to raise this much from a single community post! It’s incredible to see such kindness and generosity for a young man in such a difficult situation. He was left with only $12 to his name after Scientology abandoned him. I’m so proud of everyone for stepping up to help. It’s truly beautiful.
I want to thank everyone who’s been sharing these posts, reaching out to others in the community, raising awareness, and helping behind the scenes. Please keep doing so! All ideas, contacts, and resources are greatly appreciated. We urgently need housing for him in the Denver area (or LA, but he wants to go back home). Does anyone have a spare room available?
I want everyone to know that I’m just one person, and I’m extremely exhausted doing my best over here (with chronic tumor pain)! We spent the entire day together yesterday. I’m about to start editing the video we made so we can share his story with the world and introduce him to everyone. The video will likely be up around 1 PM LA time once it’s rendered and uploaded.
Although we’ve raised $634 for him, we still need to continue fundraising. You’ll hear his story in his own words later today, so stay tuned. But he has no family or friends to go back to in Denver. If we don’t find a solution, he could end up on the streets within the next week or so. My goal is to secure at least two weeks to a month of housing for him along with funds for food, transportation, and other necessities while he gets a job and back on his feet. It’s a tough world out there, and I know times are hard for everyone. I understand if you are unable to donate, but if you aren’t able to, please share this to everyone you can!! Those who have followed me over the past 10.5 years know I’ve NEVER ONCE asked for money or run a fundraiser. I’ve learned that they’ve become common in this community during my absence, but this is an urgent and dire situation. We all advocate against Scientology’s abuses and human trafficking. This young man is their latest victim as of the last 2-3 days. He was human trafficked to Los Angeles.
I did get in touch with Aaron Smith-Levin and we talked on the phone for 30 minutes. The Aftermath Foundation had denied his application due to not having enough references. He got in as a first generation Scientologist, as I did. He doesn’t have friends or family who were in with him. Do they want to call his course supervisor or something? What reference does one need? I think Steven Mango is a great reference, but that’s just me. Aaron told me he will also help with his flight and possibly some money. Bruce Hines from the Aftermath Foundation, SHAME ON YOU!
I’m heading back to editing now, but if anyone else would like to help, I thank you from the bottom of my heart on his behalf:

🚨EMERGENCY HELP needed!! A young gay Scientologist was kicked out onto the street outside LA Org in the last 48-72 hours. He contacted me and I spent the day with him today. Here’s what is going on: they trafficked him to LA on a one-way ticket and coerced him into signing a Sea Org billion-year contract to live and work at the Org. Because his family opposes Scientology, they labeled him as PTS (a Potential Trouble Source, someone connected to an SP—an enemy of the church) and sent him to Ethics. They took thousands of dollars from him, maxed out his credit cards, and required him to pay $2,500 for the Purification Rundown while he was being “investigated.” Although he wasn’t an official Sea Org member, he was on a Project Prepare and living at their Fountain Hotel.
Under duress, they forced him to sign a form allowing them to search his phone and social media or else face immediate removal. He complied, deleting all his apps and most of his messages, and handed over his phone. Five hours later, they returned his phone and kicked him out after discovering he was gay and seeing his Reddit posts and messages. They redownloaded every app & his phone had auto-logged the Scientologists back on. He now has just $12 to his name.
Today, I took him out for a nice lunch and a Starbucks, as he hadn’t eaten in days. We talked for six hours—I’ve been in a similar situation before when I left Scientology back in 2013 and I wanted to be there for him. He needs a flight back home and possibly a few nights in a hotel here until that can be arranged.
As for other resources, the LA LGBT Center can’t see him until October 26, and the Aftermath Foundation, which supposedly helps ex-Scientologists, denied his application because he “didn’t have enough resources.” That’s insane to me, given their mission to help people like him. I reached out to the SPTV Foundation, a charity run by Aaron Smith-Levin, this morning, but I haven’t received a response back yet.
These so-called charities for ex-Scientologists seem like cash grabs, while this young man is at risk of being on the street tomorrow.
If anyone can help him avoid homelessness and get some food, please consider contributing. He has $12, no job, no family, and literally nothing else. Scientology drained him dry, trafficked him here, and then abandoned him. Let’s step up and support him!
I filmed a YouTube video with him, but I won’t be able to upload it until tomorrow. You’ll hear him share his story in a 40 minute video. In the meantime, if you can help, my Venmo is @StevenM91 (if it asks for a security code, the last 4 digits are 8408), and my PayPal is talentmailings@gmail.com (my old business name, Talent Mailings, might show up, but it’s me).
Thank you so much! I wouldn’t ask if it weren’t a dire situation. I know many ex-Scientologists and never in’s follow me and will understand the urgency and importance of helping someone in need.
Let’s make sure he has a safe place to stay and a way back home. Please share this post to your pages!

UPDATE 9/27/2024 @ 11 PM LA time: I just got off the phone with Aaron Smith-Levin, and we spoke for about half an hour. We’re going to work on getting him a flight to Denver. Thanks to two incredibly generous donors, we were able to raise $50 via Venmo (thank you so much from the bottom of my heart on his behalf 💙), which I sent to him tonight!
If anyone else is in a position to help, any donation would be greatly appreciated (Venmo preferred). Every little bit counts! Right now, he has $62 to his name. The hostel costs around $40 a night, and he still needs to eat and keep his phone on. He didn’t eat today until I was able to buy him lunch earlier.
You all are a blessing! Whether you’ve donated, reshared, sent emails, or made calls on his behalf, please keep sharing 🙏🏻 I’m so grateful for all the support. It means the world to me and to him. Thank you to the Mangotologists out there who are making it possible to help an ex-Scientologist who was kicked out onto the street by the cult this week.
There are some crazy rumors and misconceptions floating around on places like Reddit and within my community section over the last week that I’d like to clarify tonight.
In my last “Leave Me Alone, DOA” post, I made a comment to the effect that we don’t need someone like DOA representing our community and that I might as well make a comeback to be a positive influence. This comment was meant sarcastically, emphasizing the absurdity of me, amidst major health crises, needing to “save the day” and make a YouTube comeback. It was a response to a comment about DOA, and my joking tone wasn’t conveyed. This is important to mention because there’s a thread discussing whether or not I should really come back, if it would be beneficial for the ex-Scientology community at large, or if I have some type of ulterior motive to get involved back in drama to stir up the pot.
As I’ve shared before, I’ve been making significant progress with my mental health. I’m in therapy twice a week, working diligently to unpack my trauma and process everything from my time in Scientology, my issues within the ex-community, my suicidal ideations and attempts, and much more. I never wanted to move to LA, join Scientology, and then spend over a decade discussing it with a microscope on Scientology at all times. I have so many goals now that are outside of Scientology activism that I want to pursue in the next chapter of my life in my 30s. However, I’m very proud of the work I’ve done here. As an OG, I bravely came forward with a documentary seen by millions when there were only a handful of Scientology bloggers. My goal was to be a critic, help as many people as possible, and lean on my amazing Mangotology community for support. Mangotologists have literally kept me alive, giving me hope that I may one day move past the trauma and be in the place I’ve finally arrived at. While it’s sometimes entertaining to follow the community’s happenings while I lay bedbound due to my health, it’s like a reality show car crash you can’t look away from. However, I decided with my therapist to stay away from the gossip since it’s not healthy for my mental health.
Will I return? If I do come back, I will make videos when I feel inspired to post and not upload just for clickbait or a check. In addition, I think it’s lazy to turn on a live stream and read comments with superchats. That has never been my style. I’ve also never raised thousands of dollars for mysterious purposes or started a charity foundation. I’m not using you guys as my personal piggy bank. On the flip side, I have made dozens of educational videos discussing my story and the recovery of a cult member, literally sitting on camera trying to process some really serious stuff. They killed my dog as Fair Game. I lived in fear for many years. Now, I have a quiet, happy life with my wonderful husband and three dogs. Why ruin that progress and forward movement in my life that was stalled for so long?
My biggest mistake in the last week was responding to DOA. I’m more than happy for anyone to talk about me or my story, especially if there’s good intention behind it. Anyone is free to discuss my stories or content I’ve made. I can’t control that. I just kindly asked for some peace and privacy to heal after years of making videos and not getting professional help.
Here’s the issue I have though: DOA was using my story to get revenge on others in the SPTV community that he has beef with. This involved him using my trigger of Karen scamming me out of $7,500 and turning me away from mental health and emergency services as I was driving to Las Vegas to jump off the balcony at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. It’s not just about independent Scientology auditing. I was suicidal and freshly out of Scientology, $50k in debt, and Jeff was about to divorce me since I was a mess back then. We are now together 12.5 years and we worked through our problems.
Anyways, this 70+ year old narcissistic abuser ripped off a 20-year-old suicidal guy and told him not to get 5150’d since it would affect the auditing I was doing with her. Therapists and psychiatrists have “bad stats” and the only person who could help me was Karen, and it came at a cost of $2,500 for 12.5 hours of auditing. She justified this as having “burned the midnight oil” as a Class 12 auditor and “Queen of Scientology” (there’s no such post in Scientology — she self-billed herself this) and $200/hour is no different than paying a good therapist for an hour of mental health counseling.
I have 4 hours of content if you aren’t familiar with this and I won’t recount every detail. This is a quick summary. DOA discussing this brings back all my memories and trauma. In the end, they played Scientology’s game outside of Scientology and I got disconnected by critics such as Rinder, the Headleys, A-Ahole Smith Levin, and others who stood by her. Aaron made nasty posts about me (while supporting Karen) on Reddit & on Facebook forums. I have the receipts & I will discuss on a different occasion. This is one reason (amongst many) why I don’t support him. I wasn’t supported since people like Chris Shelton and Angry Gay Pope were also paid to make content attacking me for Karen. There are screenshots where this was admitted. What do narcissists like Karen do when their mask is lifted and you expose them or cut them off? They do everything in their power to attack and discredit you. She called the cops making false police reports on me, saying she donated Kindake paintings and annual checks to the LAPD & they need to arrest me for attacking her as an elderly woman on YouTube. I spoke to the cops, the detective laughed and hung up. Anyways, I wanted to share what this Karen story is truly about since so many people don’t understand my issues with her. Anyone who wants to hear my side of what went down and how abusive she was to me can check out the videos made around 2020 on this subject.
Also, I do not have cancer. There’s a Reddit thread saying I shared that I have cancer. I have a rare disease called NF2, which causes schwannomas (benign tumors) on my central nervous system and peripheral nervous system. I also had a serious spine infection that traveled to my brain about 2.5 years ago, causing severe spinal damage. I’ve been disabled ever since. My chronic pain is being managed currently, but it wasn’t for many years. Once it’s stable for a longer period, I plan to work at a medical spa and continue studying to be an aesthetic nurse, which is my ultimate goal and dream. I’m not planning a return to being a content creator or influencer.
Being brought up in the community’s mess only reinforced why I’m gone. I’ve seen others bring up Doug’s name once he’s passed away, which is gross to discuss when he can’t defend himself. The man has passed away. What kind of sick people want to engage in drama or gossip with a deceased man? Let him rest in peace. There’s so much more I’ve seen that made me want to stay away so I don’t revert and backslide on all the positives I’ve worked on. You guys all knew me when I was mentally ill and suffering. I’m in such a good place and don’t need someone like DOA to drag me down with him. Swatting himself? My god, who does that?
What has become a true passion of mine is helping chronic pain patients and advocating for the responsible use of prescription opioids. Despite prescription rates being at their lowest since 1993, overdose rates have skyrocketed by 400% due to illicit fentanyl. There is a severe crisis of undertreated chronic pain, and I’ve been actively working to advocate for this community and push for legislative changes to support pain patients. I aspire to be on the frontlines, helping and educating those in need. For many of us with chronic illnesses and pain, opioids are a lifeline. I strongly support a safe supply of these medications, which are being overly restricted, leaving many unable to access even a week’s supply for their pain. I want to change this, so others do not resort to dangerous, illicit fentanyl pills. If you’re interested in learning more, especially if you don’t have chronic pain and want to understand what this all means, I’ll be uploading a video discussing this issue and how Scientology has interfered with my health and medical journey.
I am not SPTV, I do not support SPTV, and I do not support Aftermath crew. I am not aligned or tied to any person or group. I just share my experiences as a former cult member and critic of this organization that needs to be shut down worldwide forever. That’s always been my purpose at the end of the day. I don’t want anyone like me, a naive 18 year old who needed a helping hand as my adult life was getting started and then went on a wild ride as a Scientologist.
If you have any ideas, suggestions, comments, questions, or concerns, I will read them all and respond to each of you individually when I get the chance because I truly value every single person who is a Mangotologist and has been along for the ride. My community means the world to me, even when I’m not active. I still frequently check comments and see all the sweet messages reminding me I’m loved and encouraging me to return. Although I have 1-2 videos ready, I’m uncertain if being online and exposing myself to public judgment and critique, along with dealing with Scientology, is the best thing for me right now.
Thank you for listening and for your continued support. It means the world to me.
DOA, LEAVE ME ALONE!! This also goes out to members of the sub-cult SPTV and the Aftermath crew. I’ve kindly asked (on multiple occasions) to be left in peace to heal. I’m barely holding on due to the rare disease I live with and the dozens of painful tumors wreaking havoc in my body. Earlier this year, I was on the verge of ending my life. Ever since then I have been working on healing and personal development, attending therapy twice a week. The last thing I need is to be drawn back into the toxic ex-Scientology community filled with drama and problems. I’ve been striving to move forward and make positive changes in my life. Please leave me out of it. I am not involved in whatever issues you are having with Scientology critics and protesters.
I also do not need DOA, a homeless possible meth addict (allegedly) to “give Steven Mango a voice.” If you didn’t know, DOA: I was one of a handful of OGs who, over a decade ago, bravely exposed Scientology before clout chasers used our community to gain views and attention online. About seven years ago, I protested Scientology almost daily. I was physically assaulted outside their testing center. I appeared in the BBC film “My Scientology Movie” and shared my story with millions. I don’t need DOA to give me a “voice” when I’ve been plenty loud on my own. I put in work to expose Scientology long before many others came forward. I will also be here years after they find another movement or group to invade, grift, and cling onto.
If you don’t know what’s going on, the other day I started getting bombarded with comments. I had no idea why because my channel isn’t active. I heard DOA was sharing my 3-4+ month-old post about the abuse I faced in the ex-Scientology community (via Karen & Jeff) and how I was wronged by other critics and ex-Scientologists. More importantly, this post was about my 24+ tumors and the rare disease causing me intractable pain, which led to suicide attempts in March. Others wondered if I was in cahoots with DOA and if we were banding together by him supporting me via my community post. I met DOA twice. One day, probably 6-9 months ago, I was driving to Starbucks when I saw a man live streaming by the front door of Big Blue. Given that I’ve moved on in my life, I was unfamiliar with him, but I honked my horn to introduce myself. We spoke for a few minutes. Then, a few weeks later, I saw him writing with chalk on the sidewalk by the driveway at Big Blue. I was bored and with a Starbucks in hand, I pulled over and chatted with him for 10-15 minutes. That was the extent of our interactions.
I’m genuinely suffering, you guys. I’m not physically doing well at all. Getting roped into anything involving this community gives me grief, stress, and increased pain due to the reminders of my trauma and abuse. I spent years on YouTube trapped in a cycle of reliving my experiences by continuously discussing the harm I went through in Scientology. In the last year or two, I’ve thought about Scientology maybe half a dozen times. I genuinely do not think about it anymore since I’ve been spending twice a week in therapy, learning to rebuild my life and cope in healthier ways. Instead of crying online about my past and always thinking about traumatizing events, I’ve been advocating for chronic pain patients, as that’s where my new passion and heart lie. I understand what it’s like to be a pain patient needing help in that realm. I do not support SPTV, Aftermath, or others in the ex-Scientology community outside of Dianne Etex and Doug Kramer (RIP).
Speaking of Doug, leave Doug’s name out of your mouth, DOA. He is deceased and cannot speak on these issues, so I will defend his honor. Do not use Doug to make some type of point regarding your personal issues and agendas with people like A-Ahole Smith Levin. It enrages me to no end. I’m not a person who gets angry, but when my good friend is being used, and he’s not even on this planet, it really bothers me. Did Doug ever know who you were? Where were you to promote Doug’s channel or share his story when he was alive? Were you even in this community when Doug was active? I think not.
To conclude, I’ll just share this as my final thoughts, which was an edit on my last community post that DOA shared and I added this to the top: “I need to clarify something important: I am not consenting to my personal story being used for agendas or conflicts that I am not a part of. My journey with chronic pain from a rare disease has been overwhelmingly difficult, and my history with the ex-Scientology community, including individuals like Karen De La Carriere, has been fraught with challenges.
I have not authorized anyone to share my story to their page to forward their own narratives and agendas, and I have not been in contact with anyone from the ex-Scientology community recently. My current health struggles are my primary focus, and I am not involved in any disputes or activities within that community. It’s crucial that my experience is not co-opted for unsavory purposes, especially while I am dealing with severe health issues, including multiple tumors impacting my spine and chest. I honestly don’t want to be in the middle of a situation that has nothing to do with me that I’m frankly not aware of until right now. I have not been in touch with DOA and he did not ask me if he could share my personal story. Interesting timing, to say the least…”
If you are on his lives or in his comments & he brings my name up, please let DOA know that I do not want him to use my Scientology story or health journey for his agenda. I do not align myself with him and want to make that very clear. I would do this myself if I wasn’t suffering and in pain. I do not have the strength for online drama or attention at the moment. Thank you!
[With all of that being said, I miss all of you guys who have been with me on this journey for 10 years. Even if I’m not making frequent content, I am so grateful for all of you being there for me through the ups & downs of my recovery from Scientology. I did film a video about having chronic pain as a Scientologist & I plan to edit and upload it within the next week. When I feel inspired to post a Scientology related video, or even a life update one, I’ll do my best to post when I feel I’m physically able to sit down and do so!]

• Venmo: @StevenM91 (security code: 8408) preferred
• PayPal: talentmailings@gmail.com (You’ll see “Talent Mailings,” which is correct)
I’ll keep everyone posted on his progress and update you when he gets to his new home in Denver!
In the comments, please write supportive messages to Chance. I told him I’d request this from everyone so he can read the comments here when he feels down to see how much love & support there is right now for him around the country & even internationally.
Love,
Steve

Thank you, everyone! I love you all 💙

Mangotology (Steven Mango)
