Our new song Well Organised with Lila Iké is out now! This song is about finding hope by the experience of music and the sort of healing power that it holds to overcome pain. It features Lila Iké, an amazing vocalist from Jamaica who stars in this incredible video that we shot out there recently.

When writing this album 'Here Because Of Hope' we were looking at the wider theme of hope and we decided that we wanted to start in West Africa and then go to the Caribbean before eventually ending back up in the UK. We wanted to sonically cover as many places as we could in the Caribbean, so it led us to soca and reggae, which is widely found across the region.

“The Caribbean movement of the album is one that I'm quite proud of because it's like a tribute to the place that I'm from. I've got a lot of nostalgia for it as a place, but a sort of nostalgia for a place I don't know as well as I wish I did. Nostalgia for a place I didn't grow up in.” - James

When making this record, the concept came to us that we wanted to tell a story about Africa, the Caribbean and the UK. It was really important that in the first movement of the record, Africa wasn't just constricted to just the Nigerian experience that we in the band represent.

Gambia was a place that we really wanted to represent on this record because their music is beautiful; it’s a beautiful corner of African culture and music. 'Only Love’ was first born out of transcribing Gambian music and putting the melodic lines into bass lines. And once the bass line felt really great, we put a drum beat and some percussion to it. And that's when we invited our brother Pa Salieu to join us in the studio.
