The book is here!

They called me a church dropout.

Turns out that was a compliment.

The book is out today. Leaving Church, Finding Jesus.

I’ve been gone, and I’m back.

This season has been hard. It’s been a struggle. But God has been faithful, and nothing has been lost.

While I was away, I missed you all. I prayed for you, and my family is so grateful for the way you’ve prayed for us and walked with us.
Somewhere in the middle of this, I put some words on the page—and they turned into a book, a book that’s been writing me for years. It’s a book about recovering the church that Jesus built. I’ll share more about that soon.

I’ll also talk more about life, what’s been happening in our world, and where we might be headed next.

Thank you for loving us, supporting us, and staying in this journey with us. Don’t forget: you’re not alone.

Hey everyone, quick update about where I’ve been and what’s ahead since many of you have asked.

Life.

This new year started busy, and last year brought a few major setbacks for our family. We’re going through a difficult time with some major changes as we try to find our path forward. What we’re dealing with isn’t life-threatening, but it’s life-changing and serious enough that it requires more of our focus. There are other things affecting this too, and maybe I’ll do a video on this at some point.

The Future.

I’ve been thinking about YouTube—its positives (reach, accessibility) and its realities. It’s amazing that a channel can reach so many people for free, but it’s not free. YouTube profits tremendously from our content and uses algorithms that shape audience, visibility, and revenue. Unfortunately it creates a pressure for many to conform to a middle-ground that I will not take. Many have stepped into content that avoids tension and dilutes truth leading unhealthy growth and prioritizing entertainment over nourishment for the soul. This isn’t why I started this channel. My hope was to build a place for people on a similar journey to walk and grow together, without the negativity, without condemnation, and without sacrificing authenticity.

What keeps me here is you. But it’s time to explore other platforms that allow for better dialogue and a stronger sense of community—free of constant negativity, trolling, with real opportunities for conversation, shared learning, and a single direction. Seek Jesus and his Kingdom. If that shift happens, I’ll keep you posted.

I’m genuinely asking: What is the point of claiming that America was founded on Christian values? I don’t agree with this sentiment. But hypothetically, if it were true, what would that prove or imply? People often point to this claim but don’t explain why it matters. I have my own thoughts but would love to hear yours.

This popped up on my feed, and I thought it was interesting: Lifeway also doesn’t see Black Christians as Evangelical. Interestingly, this also confirms “evangelical” is to be understood as a white, right?
