They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. So after our business was stolen, and the very judicial system we turned to for protection decided to help itself to what little we had left, we decided to stop.
Stop doing the same thing over and over again. Stop the insanity.
Instead, we decided to cash-in our few remaining chips, flee Chile, and do something entirely different - become professional moto-hobos.
Which, as it turns out, is the sanest decision we've ever made.
This is the chronicle of our life on two wheels exploring far flung lands and doing our best to get off the beaten track!

After fleeing their adopted home in Chile with little more than what they could carry on their Honda Africa Twin, Chad and Rose set out on a journey that would span South, Central, and North America.
What began as an escape… became something much bigger.
Years later, they returned to California - but the story wasn’t finished.
Determined to see it through, Rose climbed onto a motorcycle of herown to complete what they had started… riding north toward the Arctic Ocean.
An ambitious - some might say foolish - 76-day, 13,000 mile journey would take her to the edge of the continent, along Canada’s remote and unforgiving Dempster Highway… to the end of the road at Tuktoyaktuk.
This episode marks the conclusion of that journey.
From the chaos that set it all in motion…
to the moment it finally comes full circle.
Back in California, Chad and Rose reflect on the road behind them, sharing their story at the Horizons Unlimited Travelers Meeting - bringing to a close a chapter that defined their lives for nearly
eight years.
Because sometimes…
when everything falls apart…
it leads you exactly where you were meant to go.

"Stranded in Stewart, British Columbia after a mechanical failure,
Chad and Rose get back on the road with a little help from a local - and point their bikes south.
From the remote stretches of the Cassiar Highway to the Yellowhead and onward to Terrace, they regroup with friends before continuing west along one of Canada’s most haunting corridors - the Highway of Tears - bound for the coastal edge of Prince Rupert.
But getting out of British Columbia won’t be simple.
With no reservation for the ferry through the Inside Passage, they
take a gamble - showing up at the terminal with no guarantee of making it on board. Against the odds, they secure a spot on the MV Northern Expedition, setting off on a journey through one of the most remote and spectacular coastlines in North America.
From Vancouver Island, a final ferry carries them across the border to Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, and the beginning of their long ride home to California."

Aaron and Charlotte - who joined Chad on his ride to Deadhorse along

Trading two wheels for four and a jet boat, the group heads deep into
the flooded corridors of the Susitna River and Yentna River, exploring
