Can't believe how I went from thoroughly disliking and absolutely regretting paying $70 for Crimson Desert (first time paying this much for the game btw, usually prices in my region are cheaper) to absolutely loving the experience!
Crimson Desert is just pure, fun and very flawed game. And I live it... Can't believe that Pearl Abyss of all devs made this...
I need some way to relax. So to do so, I decided to make videos.
As you may or may not know, I'm actually expecting my third child to be born in the next few days. And from my experience, I can tell you that this last few days of the pregnancy is probably one of the most difficult ones.
It also means that my mind needs something to occupy itself between running around helping with my wife. and other two kids.
So to help put that, I decided to just make as many videos as I possible can. I have a lot of games that I'm also playing on my handheld and while being with my wife and kids. So I have a lot of videos to create.
So basically that means that you can expect daily videos at least until my kid will be born. You can say that this is my way to relax and cope with anxiety and stress.
I did one video about Slay the Spire 2, Another one about Kerbal Space Program, And after that I miss the day. So to help with that, I'm actually doing two videos today.
One is about Pragmata that I uploaded just a few hours ago, And another one is a little surprise that you will get later today.
I'm also working on the video for tomorrow and I have already scripted the video for the day after that.
I know that this might cause a burnout. but i would probably be burnt out even more if I don't do that. So I guess we might as well have some fun.
I think I owe you an explanation. and this is for all my viewers for feeling that my channel has changed too much.
Let me give you the very straightforward answer. Before that change, the channel was actually dying.
Most of you, or rather almost every one of you, would not have noticed that, because unfortunately, the channel culture on YouTube is long dead. People only care about specific topics, or just watch the videos on the homepage and move on. I'm not delusional. I know that this is how it is right now. And because I cannot change anything about this, I'm not worried about that.
But the fact is that the usual format of the channel of short concise reviews of almost any game that I would play was dead.
And if you don't believe me, more than 90% of you actually were not watching my channel anymore, even way before I changed my type of videos. And that is a fact, because when the channel with 40,000 subscribers that is primarily focused on reviews, barely gets more than 1000 views on most of its videos, that means the channel is basically dead. that means that people subscribed for the channel for the specific videos and for the specific topics were expecting only that specific videos and that specific topics and the channel was simply not about that. So, people were not watching it anymore.
so the pivot happened and happened just a few months ago in around the December of 2025.
I decided to actually learn how to write scripts and switch to more interesting review/essay type videos.
And the fact was that I had absolutely no idea how to write good scripts. and most importantly, I had no idea how to read them correctly because almost all of my videos before that were either purely improvised or just had a few bullet points that I was reading from off the camera.
So what you were witnessing and you are witnessing still is my learning phase. I'm learning how to write better scripts. I'm learning how to read them correctly in front of the camera. and most importantly, I learn how to not sound like an AI. because people literally are seeing AI in almost every single thing that I do right now. and I'm not gonna lie, I'm using AI for help. but I'm never using AI to do the things for me though in it's entirety. I use AI for formatting check or to find a better wording, but it never fully does things for me. Majority of the things are still done by hand, by me, and by people who are helping me. I am also using AI to help me with my thumbnails. but I'm not generating thumbnails from scratch. I used AI to transform some elements that I put in my thumbnails manually. I use them for upscaling. I use them for some type of pose changes. And if you think that this is wrong, well I guess you are not using your phone camera as well who is using an AI upscaling to get better videos and photos on this teeny tiny sensors that those phones have. And I guess you're not using YouTube as well, because YouTube is purely built on AI algorithms. Hell, I'm using AI even to type out this message. because voice dictation with AI enhancement is absolutely insane. I would have never written an entirety of this message without the help of AI. Am I bad person because I'm dictating to AI? Who is fixing my punctuation? And my spelling for me? You decide that.
Besides that.
I am still learning how to get this channel to the best it could. And if you haven't noticed, it is kind of working. I have more breakthrough videos than I've ever had before. If in the past, every 10th video was a success. Right now, every 3rd to every 5th video is...
I know that I'm not fully there yet. but I'm getting there. and it will be my honor if you join me this journey.
Hey fellas. I am on some kind of crossroads here. I have actually created a quite interesting video that I worked quite a lot for it. But as I finished scripting, recording, footage collection and set down to edit it, I realized that it felt a little bit off. I sound way too robotic because for the first time I actually used a teleprompter to record the video. I also stupidly used a few phrases that "those who shall not be named" are using.
At the end, it does make me sound very robotic. And a little bit not like me. So I want your answer in this one.
Should I continue making this video or should I throw away my work?
I can literally get it done within an hour... but they're kind of scared...
Every time I make a video about ANY space game, Star Citizen players HAVE to come to comment section and boast about how great Star Citizen is 😂
And funniest thing is that they have same comment pattern: "I have X amount of playtime in Star Citizen and 2x Amount of playtime (Always more than Star Citizen to emphasize that they are not fanboys) in"That Space Game", but Star Citizen is way better" 😂
Always the variation of this 👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻
Are they getting paid or something?! If they are, tell me, I want to make some cash too 😂😂😂
I want to share the results for an interesting experiment. In my latest video I launched an A/B test for thumbnails using 3 different Thumbnails...
2 thumbnails were completely hand made. No AI Involved whatsoever (except for the very basic parts, like background removal native to photo editing programs).
The last thumbnail had a game screenshot heavily modified with AI... NOTE! Thumbnail ITSELF was not generated with AI, but that part was.
Do you know what was the relative percentage of watchtime for those thumbnails?
Mind that, for thumbnails to perform the same, each one of the should have contributed to 33.3% of the watchtime.
Do you know what was the percentage for AI thumbnail? 49.8%!!!
I have never IN MY LIFE have seen such a huge discrepancy in thumbnail test! AT BEST, my winning thumbnail gets 40%, but 49.8% means that this thumbnail alone got as many views as other two COMBINED!!!
You don't want to see AI slop yet you yourself watch the MOST of it!
How can I compete with that?!
And that was OBIOUSLY made with AI, not even covering it because game does not look like that....
TLDR; Most, and I mean overwhelming majority can't even distinguish AI from human made unless it is blatantly obvious (I know that for a FACT!). So stop looking for mechanical elements in the videos and start connecting with a human ones.
There are less and less of actual human content creators every day, because most of you watches AI generated clips or other slop.
And if you are mad that I used help of AI (whether true or not) just stop watching me and go watch Fruit Love Island....
FAILURE! Surprisingly for me, this video turned out to be utter failure... No no, I am not mad, some videos perform well, others don't. 90% of my videos actually failed in the past, and it is completely fine, you can't always win.
But this is an interesting case study on how YouTube actually distributes videos that YOU watch and how it chooses what is good video and what is bad video.
So let's break it down.
This video - Has pretty good average watch time (on par with channels average and better than many "Successful" videos); - MOST people watched and stayed through the videos intro and there is no noticeable drop in viewership anywhere in the video except for the very end (which is normal);
Everything looks fine... but... there is an issue...
CTR (Click through rate, which a ration of how many people have seen the video on their feed vs how many have actually clicked it to watch) is very low 3.6%... Channels average is somewhere between 4-8% with successful video doing 10-15%...
YouTube also informs me that subscribers are clicking this video LESS than usual...
So that's where feedback loop actually shows up: Less Subscribers are clicking the video ➡️ YouTube is NOT showing this video to Non-Subscribers ➡️ Video is NOT Getting Views ➡️ Video Dies....
This shows that it is NOT always about whether video is good or not.
It is important to make videos about the topics that is relevant to YOUR audience.
Fallout New Vegas is NOT relevant now, at least not for MY channel audience, since most of my content is not about Fallout games AND people might also have Fallout Fatigue due to EVERYONE talking about it because of the recent show.
Also, my video (as usually) is retrospective on how amazing New Vegas is with my opinions on what Remaster should do or not do, which is NOT that interesting for many.
I find this type of things quite fascinating... Maybe some of you will too.
This is the weirdest thing I have seen in a while...
Usually, my viewers are older than usual, grown up gamers who know exactly what they like and what to buy.
But this is something different. This is the age distribution pattern for my Grim Dawn video (these are the results for approximately 10,000 views). Look at how much older Grim Dawn players are!
Almost no viewers up until age 25!
This shows that some games just aren't for younger people...
Not sure if it is interesting for you but just wanted to share this 😊
My videos are actually quite flawed. For the past few months almost all of my videos were actually following very similar structure. Structure was usually comparing 2 games against each other showing one game as positive, and another game as negative. And as you can see that structure has worked. However, it is not without flaws, and I am man enough admit it. Sometimes, and for some maybe even often, I have painted some games very unjustly. As an example, I made a video comparing Astroneer with No Man's Sky, which at first sounded as a good idea, but in retrospective was very stupid from my part. Trying to paint No Man's Sky in a negative way and the gameplay systems which is not the core part of No Man's Sky, was again stupid. And most of you did a very good job to show me why is it that way, and even though some of you were disrespectful at that, most of you did an excellent job on explaining it in a very respectful way.
However a very interesting part in that is that it's still the matter of opinion. Every comparison with every game with every feature is still always going to be subjective. Doesn't matter whether it's fair or not, it is still going to be the matter of opinion.
And what people have a hard time understanding is that if you don't like an opinion you're not obliged to listen to it or watch it or comment on it, you can simply ignore it, and next time when you'll see the opinion on something else from the same person you can just simply move on. I'm not telling this to teach you something about life or opinions or anything, I'm telling you this because this is how YouTube algorithm works.
If you watch something over and over again that you don't agree with, and you keep commenting on it, YouTube will think that this is the videos that you like to watch. Because at the end of the day YouTube does not care whether you enjoy watching video or suffer from watching it, they only care about the fact of you watching it. So if you saw my video and you didn't like how I make my videos, or how I talk, or what I think, or my accent, or my moustache, if you don't want to see me again you don't comment on it!
The second you start interacting with my videos, this is a signal for YouTube algorithm that you like engaging with my videos, and it will start showing you them more. Don't get me wrong, for me and for my videos it doesn't matter whether you like dislike, write a positive comment, or write a negative comment, or simply watch video 'til the end, they all count as an engagement for my videos, and every action will push my videos even more, so for me it's all a good thing, for you it isn't!
So if you don't like my opinions or anything about me or my videos, just close the tab and move on to the next one, do yourself a service. Or don't, and continue being disrespectful towards me and everyone else, and let me win in this case.
