Crochet feels awkward at first? That’s completely normal 🧶

Your hands are learning:
• hook control
• yarn tension
• coordination
• and completely new movements all at once šŸ˜…

There’s no one ā€œperfectā€ way to hold your hook or yarn. Most crocheters adjust their hold over time until it feels natural and comfortable.

I wrote a new beginner blog post where I show:
✨ different hook grips
✨ different yarn holds
✨ tension tips
✨ and beginner guidance for more comfortable crocheting

Read it here:
www.happyheartsy.com/post/how-to-hold-crochet-hook…

And if you want everything connected in one place, I also created my Crochet Starter Kit for Beginners 🧶

Gauge… the thing most beginners skip.

Until their project doesn’t turn out the right size šŸ˜„

I just shared a simple way to check it, stitches + rows within 4".

Do you actually need it? Not always. But when you do, it matters.

Last week I talked about crochet hooks… this time it’s yarn šŸ™‚

If you’re just starting crochet, this is something you should know:
Yarn weight doesn’t mean heaviness, it means thickness.

And even though there are sooo many beautiful yarns… not all of them are beginner-friendly.

If you want to make it easier for yourself, start with a solid colour so you can actually see your stitches.

I also wrote a blog post where I explain the basics in a simple way.

Comment START and I’ll send you the link — plus my Crochet Starter Kit where everything is explained step by step šŸ¤šŸ§¶

Hook sizes are not just numbers… they literally change how your project looks and feels.

Same yarn → different hook = completely different result.

This is where a lot of beginners get confused, because no one really explains how it all connects.

I broke it down simply in this blog post so it actually makes sense:
šŸ‘‰ www.happyheartsy.com/post/crochet-hook-sizes-expla…

And honestly, this is exactly why I created my Crochet Starter Kit — so you don’t have to figure all these pieces out separately.

Everything is in one place, simply explained, so you can just start and not overthink it.

Starting crochet? 🧶

When I started, I just grabbed random yarn and a hook… and somehow it worked šŸ˜…

But once I realized how many options there are, it got confusing really fast.

So if you’re just starting, keep it simple:
šŸ‘‰ 5mm hook
šŸ‘‰ worsted weight yarn (size 4)

That’s honestly the easiest way to learn and actually see your stitches.

If you want a clear place to start, I wrote a blog post with all the basics:
šŸ‘‰ www.happyheartsy.com/post/how-to-start-crocheting-…

And if you’d rather have everything step by step in one place (no more searching),

Confused where to start with crochet?

You’re not the only one…Most beginners get stuck before they even make their first stitch because nothing really connects.

Hooks, yarn, gauge, patterns… it all feels like separate pieces.

That’s exactly why I created my Crochet Starter Kit so everything is in one place and actually makes sense.

You don’t need 50 tutorials.
You just need a clear starting point.

If you want it, comment START and I’ll send it to you 🧶✨

If you’re new to crochet and feel completely lost… it’s not you 🧶

There’s just too much random information and no clear starting point.

That’s exactly why I created this Crochet Starter Kit — everything beginners need in one place so you actually know what to do first.

Love should be shown every day…
but a little Valentine reminder never hurts šŸ¤

This cardigan was stitched with love in every row.
Two colours. One heart.

Where happy heart meets crochet art.

šŸ¤ A little introduction…

My goal in 2026 is simple: to be seen.

You see my crochet patterns and tutorials here, but I realized I haven’t shared much about me.

I started crocheting in 2015, just for fun.
In 2021, I turned it into a business.

I design. I teach. I sell. I build.

What started with physical products turned into designing my own patterns — and that’s where I found my creative freedom.

Now I create crochet patterns and step-by-step video tutorials to help you crochet with confidence.

And I’m redefining what success means to me.

Not just income.
But building a life that actually feels like mine.

Still growing. Still building.
And very proud of how far I’ve come.

If you’re here, thank you šŸ¤
How long have you been crocheting?

Here’s a little sneak peek of a super easy, chunky project — perfect for markets, quick gifts, or a cozy treat for yourself.

Made with Wool-Ease yarn and honestly… the colours are doing all the work šŸ˜

More coming soon ✨
