🐈🍖🐕 13 dead dogs found in bag
🚔 Police in Da Nang City, Vietnam, chased two suspected dog meat thieves after noticing them riding a motorbike carrying a large sack. 🇻🇳

🚨 When officers began pursuing them, the suspects fled into a nearby wooded area. However, they were forced to abandon both their motorbike and the sack. 🏍️

💔 Sadly, what police found inside the bag was heartbreaking: 13 dead dogs. They had either been stolen and killed or died during transport.

We are glad to see the Vietnamese authorities taking action. However, millions of dogs and cats still die every year as part of the dog and cat meat trade. 🛑

Ramba 🤍🐯

Once rescued from illegal private captivity in Czechia, this beautiful tigress is now thriving at our TIERART Wild Animal Sanctuary. 💚

Since 2023, Ramba has been enjoying the peaceful life she deserves, sunbathing on her favourite wooden platform, watching over her surroundings, and finding joy in the little things. 🌞

Her enclosure is filled with lush bamboo (her absolute favourite!), where you can often spot her playfully hiding, stalking, or simply relaxing. 🌿

Did you know that a cow 🐮 would naturally only produce milk to feed her own calf⁉️
Considered a by-product of the dairy industry, calves 🐮🍼 are taken from their mothers shortly after birth so that the milk can be used for human consumption. The distress is profound: calves cry out for their mothers for hours 💔.
Many of these calves are then transported over long distances – often for days. During these journeys, they may suffer from hunger, dehydration, exhaustion, and overcrowding. The conditions can be harsh and the experience extremely stressful, especially for such young animals. Many do not survive the journey. Those who do often face a cruel fate upon arrival, where conditions and methods of slaughter can be deeply distressing.
Dairy cows themselves are typically used for milk production for around 5 years before being slaughtered - despite having a natural life expectancy of up to 25 years in a safe environment‼️
The dairy industry is also one of the major drivers of live animal transport. It’s worth bearing in mind the next time you take a sip of milk.
We urge the European Parliament to deliver stronger protections in the live transport proposal to safeguard the welfare of calves and other farm animals.

You cannot train instincts out of wild animals.

Out of at least 125 documented incidents involving captive wild animals in circuses, zoos, and private keeping in the past decade:
• 97 involved big cats
• 89 were attacks
• 36 were escapes

Circuses depend on confinement, intimidation, and constant transport to keep dangerous animals under control.

But stress, fear, and instinct cannot be rehearsed away. 💔

Why does it always take an incident for us to do the right thing and treat animals with respect?

Wild animals belong in the wild - not under spotlights. 🌿

Animals living beside rotting corpses. Open wounds left untreated. Mink trapped in tiny wire cages, showing signs of extreme psychological distress.

A new undercover investigation inside a mink fur farm in Galicia, Spain has exposed horrifying conditions that no animal should ever endure.

The footage published by Fur Free Alliance member ARDE shows mink with severe infections, inflamed eyes, exposed bones, and signs of self-mutilation - while dead kits and decomposing bodies lay inside cages among excrement and rusted wire.

Despite this, more than 95% of Spain’s fur farms are certified under the industry-backed “WelFur” welfare scheme.

Spain is now one of the last countries in Europe still allowing fur farming, with around 300,000 mink killed every year for fashion.

This isn’t luxury. This is suffering. 💔

Across the EU, 18 countries have already banned fur farming. Public support for ending it in Spain is overwhelming – and four years after the launch of the #FurFreeEurope European Citizens’ Initiative the pressure is growing for an EU-wide ban.

No animal should spend its entire life in a cage only to be killed for a coat.

Silver foxes & raccoons living their best life 🦊💚🦝

Last spring, TIERART Wild Animal Sanctuary opened the doors to a brand-new 1,000 m² haven complete with a pond, flowing stream, climbing structures, rock caves, and cosy wooden hideouts. A dream home for rescued fur animals. 🐾

Today, raccoons Sally, Krümel, and Thalia share this incredible space with silver foxes Mala and Skadi and it’s safe to say… this unexpected crew thrives together.

It didn’t start that way. The raccoons were shy at first, unsure of their new neighbours. But curiosity won, and before long, harmony took over. Now, Skadi, the fearless adventurer can often be spotted balancing high above on tree trunks and suspension bridges, sneaking peeks into raccoon hideouts 4 metres up! 🌿

Mala and Skadi’s story makes this even more special. Once confined to tiny wire cages on a Polish fur farm, their lives were destined to be short and tragic like millions of others in the fur industry. 💔

But everything changed in November 2022. Rescued just in time, these young foxes arrived at the sanctuary and experienced freedom for the very first time: soft soil under their paws, the joy of digging, exploring… and simply being animals. ☀️

They’re endlessly curious and playful, turning everything into an adventure, from cardboard boxes and dog toys to even camera tripods. 💚

🐅✨ Sometimes we all need a moment to pause and reconnect - just like Jade, the fierce tigress at LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary.

Jade is a Siberian tigress born in 2001. She spent her early years in captive environments that prioritised profit over her wellbeing: Her needs came second and her life was defined by control, not care.

Today, Jade’s life looks different. At LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary, she lives in an environment designed for healing. She is able to rest, has enrichment that encourages her natural behaviours, a pool to cool off in, and specialised care that puts her needs first.

At LIONSROCK calm replaces chaos and safety replaces fear. Kindness doesn’t erase the past, but it can transform the future. When we choose compassion over exploitation, animals like Jade are given the time and care they need to heal.

Only because of you are we were able to give Jade a second chance 🐅. Thank you so much for your support - it means a lot ❤️

When Zaher fled South Lebanon, he refused to leave his dogs behind. 🐾

Originally from Marjeoun Blat, Zaher worked in farming before the conflict forced him to leave his home and seek safety in Beirut. Today, he is displaced and staying near the Beirut International Exhibition & Leisure Center (Biel), together with his dogs Spero, Nemra, and Riagn. ❤️

His extended family found shelter in a crowded house, but there was no space for the dogs. Faced with an impossible choice, Zaher decided to live in a tent so he could stay with them.

For Zaher, these dogs are his family. 💔

Stories like this are why Animals Lebanon continues to provide emergency support for displaced people and their animals: helping families stay together, distributing food and supplies, and making sure animals are not left behind during this crisis.

Please help us continue supporting Animals Lebanon and the life-saving work they do for animals and the people who love them.

🎶 Whether it’s festivals or local summer fairs, outdoor events are incredibly popular. But for dogs, they can be stressful, overwhelming, and even dangerous 💔🐶

There’s a good reason why they are not allowed at many events 🚫

⚠️ Noise: Dogs hear far better than humans and are therefore much more sensitive to loud sounds. Stages with powerful speakers and large crowds can put significant strain on their sensitive ears.

⚠️ Crowds: Busy, crowded environments can also cause a great deal of stress. Dogs may feel trapped, be overlooked, bumped into, or accidentally stepped on.

Our recommendation: Leave your dogs relaxed and comfortable at home, or arrange suitable care while you attend the event. Train and prepare them in advance so they can stay home alone calmly and without stress while you’re away 🐶🤍

If there’s absolutely no other option and you need to bring your dog along, here are a few tips:

🐕 Monitor their wellbeing: Watch closely for signs of stress or discomfort. If needed, move to a quieter area or leave the event.

🔇 Reduce noise exposure: Stay away from loudspeakers and dense crowds. In some cases, specially designed ear protection for dogs may help — but it should never become an additional source of stress, and dogs should be positively trained to wear it beforehand.

🦺 Take precautions: Keep your dog on a short lead. Small dogs can be carried in crowded situations for protection. A muzzle can also prevent dogs from eating food from the ground or snapping in stressful situations.

💚 Take breaks: Give your dog regular opportunities to rest in quieter places away from noise, crowds, and commotion.

🐾 Practise beforehand: Help your dog feel more relaxed around unfamiliar people through gradual, positive training in busy environments.
