I am the only trucker in my family, but as a single child to my parents, that's not hard:) I love driving anything with wheels - cars, trucks, heavy equipment. I've driven across Europe and now North America.

Blasphemy of a book! They use heathen numbers and, even worse, they use stones for weight... who on earth knows what a stone is in kilograms? The audacity is bewildering.
Aside from that minor inconvenience and the multitude of climbing jargon that I couldn't quite grasp or picture (which, surprisingly, didn’t detract from the experience, good writing!), it was a very pleasant listen.
In multiple instances, the narrator says, "and I swore at the void," and I’m just thinking... well, let me hear it! Personally, I think in those tense moments the book creates (which are fantastic), a well-bellowed swear would have really hit the spot.
The story really ramps up once you experience the second perspective. While listening to Perspective A, you find yourself anxious for Perspective B, never knowing when it will arrive or what part of the story it will cover. Brilliant.
Overall, a good choice, far better than other books I’ve listened to from mediums I’m less familiar with.

So..in general I thought about myself that I have decent imagination (but as with all things, context is important) until I listen to this... whatever this was that I listened.
When you think there's some hints at real life ( like wink wink we talking about X personality) it takes a wildly left turn that for the first sentences you are like.... WTF, where did that come from.
I chuckled a few times, it was funny but not rolling on the floor it was good to listen (especially by Mr Steven Fry at the mic) but weird (understatement).
I'm perplexed, I feel "dirty" in a way for listening but want to listen more......
Recommend 😂

This one I enjoyed a lot, always keeping me curios and making me skip a lot of desired podcast episodes.
I think this is the first one from the series, or the first one that I recall where at the end of the book it leaves you with a clear cliffhanger or a clear, there's another book coming, it must be.
Since I did not start from the first book in the series, I am going to backtrack and start from book 1 until 9/10 where I climbed on board.

Gypsy King - I think this is my PB in terms of audiobooks, 1 day and done.
I'm not a boxing fan but I'm a fan of sports in general (proper sports) so knew and was curious about Tyson's story.
First let down - he didn't narate it and the bloke who did, I just didn't vibe at all so I had to push through that;
Second let down - within the first half hour I realized what kind of autobiography it is, it's a, what I consider, general one just to have an autobiography;
Third let down - no Wilder 2.0 , no Usyk....nope!;
Fourth - while I don't doubt the seriousness of the issues he is discussing the way he framed it (me, having context of other autobiography with people that had some difficult moments) felt for me more like a book of excuses ( felt does the heavy lifting here) like how professional racing driver's have, for me personally I didn't feel "inspired" or OMG what I can also do.... maybe I'm to broken for it to work on me.
So, yeah....4 out of 10 and I'm being extra generous.
I will never regret listening \ reading a book, but this one is quite low....not as low as the Mel Robbins books I had the misfortune of listening but quite low.

I think my first book from "the classics" category. Disappointed that narrator didn't have a lick of Russian accent, that would have been a great addition.
What surprised me is the "timing" if there's such a thing in writing... for me throughout the book it happened multiple times. While I was getting close to bordem about a subject, story, focus on some character's like the book was reading my mind and next chapter switch of scenery was happening, apon realisation it was a weird kind feeling. Maybe I'm crazy 🤣.
The book did evoke in me feelings of hatred, frustration and compassion witch makes it a good listen, but no Russian accent and the ending was kind of a letdown, compared to what I was expecting.

My second book of Mr Alan Alda and it was a good back down to earth book from him.
The fanboy hype and bias that I had in the first dimmed and left a more neutral memory of him in my mind.
I'm am glad that I went beyond Hawkeye and discovered him as a person, dad and life in general.
This second book is less life and more life wisdom spread across speeches that he did at various prestigious university's, while good it was a tad less entertaining for me personally.

A bit on the nose with the Russia narrative, against my own biased opinion but it's a fictional story so in the end I enjoyed it.
Slow cooker but once in Russia everything picked up real fast and I did last 9H in two days.
Good listen.

Nice recovery of the year...after struggling to finish The Rolling Stones one this will be be my second audio book finished within a week, guess after so many auto biographies some Gray Man action fiction hit the right spot.
Again, a very good book for it's genre ( in my subjective opinion ) and why I got into the Gray Man was the narration by Jay Snyder, it's just something else.
17h+ flew by and every book I keep expecting to hear or feel a similarity or repetition but so far I have been proven wrong every time.

Finished this one real fast, loved it. Maybe I'm extra biased because as far as I remember the only activity I did with my Dad together is watch some M.A.S.H. episodes, maybe because I watched the series bare minimum 30 time's, maybe because of the emotional rollercoaster throughout the series....who knows... but I really really enjoyed it.
Work for yourself just got a new meaning for me, not only to not have a boss or be my own boss but work for yourself can also mean work at what brings you pleasure and feel that you are good at and improve said thing, that's also working for yourself, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.
Way to short for my desire to learn more about Mr Alan Alda.
