Today I've been thinking about the season we're in, fall turning into the holidays, and how so often we tend to 'fall back' on the things we've been working so hard to create throughout the year.
It seems like it's so easy to use this season and being so close to the new year, to take a break, to want to wait till the new year to start something new, or to just slow down the momentum of what we've been working so hard on all year.
But what if we didn't use the family gatherings, the food, the parties, to fall back and take the focus off our target?
Listen, I understand that the holidays get busy. I get that there's so much to do, to prepare, to bake, to wrap.
I get that we just want to stop for a second to practice some self care.
But what if we were to reframe the idea of self care?
In the words of my amazing friend @lindsayeliseblount taking care of yourself means that you take care of your own personal dreams and goals.
The dreams you have, the goals you set for yourself, don't have to wait till the new year, the next month, or Monday. You can take care of yourself by valuing your dreams and knowing you're worthy of accomplishing them.
So go enjoy the season. Enjoy your time with family and friends. Don't fall back on your dreams, but propel yourself toward them. Take a small step daily toward your goal, and before you know it, you'll hit that one and will be on to your next amazing accomplishment!

In the very beginning of our relationship, I told David that Janelle and her kids are part of me. Not as in we were living polygamy again, but she’s my Sisterwife, always. Of course, they get along great. Vacationing with all of us is awesome.
