These animated videos take viewers on a fast-paced, witty ride through the history of revolts across all the Caribbean islands, from the pre-Columbian era to independence or regime change.

I’m from St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands raised in the U.S., and my parents and grandparents are from St. Kitts and Nevis. I started Island Revolts to research and share island history with my kids and family, and it’s amazing to see it connect with so many like-minded people. My family is spread across the Caribbean, speaking different languages just like many of you, and my goal is to continue bringing accurate history to you in a fun and engaging way.

Island Revolts

Help me settle a Haitian Occupation vs Unification debate.

I’ve read the letters Boyer and Núñez exchanged at the time, but later retellings seem to blur intent and outcome. I’m trying to understand how much of what we call history is perspective and how much was rewritten afterward.

The channel just hit 10,000 subscribers today—thank you all for subscribing and the support. My goal is to release at least two history videos a month and to cover every country in the Caribbean. Feel free to leave suggestions for future topics.

I’m also testing new AI tools, so thank you for your patience as I learn how to make the characters more consistent and the storytelling more accurate, both visually and historically.

Island Revolts

Antigua and Barbuda in progress.

People often ask where I get my information. I speak with family and locals, then cross-reference everything with verified records—government archives, museums, caribbean and african history books, slave trade databases, ancestry DNA, and historical newspapers.

From there, I write the script, generate AI images, if possible, convert real photos into 2D cartoon visuals, do some light Photoshop work along the way, then generate the AI animation. I'm basically the writer and director of these videos. Lay the voiceover and soundtrack.

I aim for historical accuracy while keeping the content engaging. Some visuals are stylized for storytelling, but the events are real. These videos are meant to spark curiosity and encourage viewers to explore the history further.

Island Revolts

Barbados video just dropped. Its history pretty much applies to all British colonies—including America. All British Caribbean islanders and colonies should see Barbados’ history as their own too.
