Hey all,

So unfortunately I've been experiencing a bit of burnout with the channel recently. Obviously the issue with the video on Monday didn't help, but also mainly because of the time taken. Between recording, editing, planning and set-up a 20 minute video can take around 4 hours, and many of my videos recently have been closer to the 30/40 minute mark. As I have a full time job, plus a lot of other responsibilities I think I've just over-estimated my possible capacity with doing 3 videos a week.

However, I don't want to stop making videos. I think with the way YouTube is it's hard to grow unless you're making a lot of content, but I do genuinely enjoy doing the videos and enjoy the discussions that come from them. Therefore I think I'm probably going to reduce to ***1 video per week *** for the time being until I can figure out the best routine for myself to make this work.

If recordings start to pile up then I'll upload extra, however I don't want to commit to more than I'm able to feasibly do. It was just getting to the stage where 3 videos a week meant I had to spend roughly 15 hours per week on YouTube stuff, and when you account for work, sleep, other hobbies and family time I was basically just running out of time in the week! I think the honest truth is that I thought making my reactions would be faster, I never expected myself to dive so deep into the songs and do a lot of extra research and work in editing.

Thank you all for watching thus far and I hope you'll continue to tune into the videos going forward. My expectation is that I'll aim for Saturday afternoon (UK time) uploads, but I'll make another post when the time comes about that.

New video will be out in 20 minutes! Thank you to anyone that perseveres with the lack of video, I explain it right at the beginning what all happened, but I was too happy with the analysis and discussion of this one to just dump the video. I would appreciate a lot of support on this one!

Hey all,

In an utterly horrendous turn of events, the video I had for today has unfortunately decided to not record, meaning that all I have is the audio and no actual visual for it. Meaning that a) I probably won't be able to do a reaction to the song it was, for my channel and b) I won't have a video to upload for today. Genuinely gutted as I was excited to do it too! However I'm curious if people would be at all interested in me just uploading the audio with the video as a visual element for it? I was actually really proud of this recording and the things I've talked about but I'm in two minds as the visual element of seeing someone react is really important to the format. Let me know what you think!

Hey all,

Just a quick question as I'm editing todays video, but for the moment the chapter structure I do is Intro -> Reaction -> Final Thoughts -> Outro. Of course within the reaction there's a lot of pauses where I talk about my thoughts on various different things. Do people think it would be worth me adding topic timestamps instead, so that you can skip through a certain topic if you're not interested? Of course I personally would prefer that people watch everything. But I can understand that my videos get long compared to the song I'm actually looking at, so wanted to give people the option to jump through a bit faster if they'd like to.

What do you think, would you use timestamps to jump past different topics? Or is it better to just keep the chapters the way they are?

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to make this post to let you all know I won't be able to get a video out tonight in my usual slot. Work and life have both been super busy and whilst I have a video recorded, it's not edited yet and I don't think I'll get the chance to finish it off today. In addition I'm going to see Spiritbox live tonight, which while super exciting does mean I won't be able to put an edited video out today!

I'm curious to know what you would prefer, as I have my own opinions but am happy to change it based on what people think. Please answer what release you would prefer below and I'll consider that going forward (and maybe for this video)!

Hey all,

Just wanted to make this community post to thank you all for the response to my first 2 videos. Given this is essentially a fresh channel, starting in a pretty saturated area I appreciate everyone checking out my videos and leaving comments/likes. Hopefully you'll stick around for what all else is to come, and it's great to have you all!

Speaking of what is to come, I've landed on a schedule I think should be doable for myself. My current goal is to have a video out every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 5pm UK time (currently BST). This is frequent enough that I can cover a wide number of songs, without hopefully overwhelming myself and keeping this fun, as I do have a full time job and between recording, editing and uploading each video has taken around 2-3 hours to do.

So what that means is you should have 3 videos coming next week, and in fact I have 4 videos that are recorded and 1 fully edited. On Monday I will be reacting to Miasma by Ghost, which is exciting as I've wanted to have an excuse to dig into more Ghost.

In addition, I've also recorded 3 videos based on recommendations from the comments of previous videos. Therefore if you made a recommendation, expect to see it on the channel in the next 10 days! I'm excited to make these and hope that you'll stick around for them, as one of them is a beast of a video (rhymes with SchmiritSchmox).

Finally I have done a terrible job at promoting any socials so here we go. I have a Twitter where I mainly just post random nonsense found here www.twitter.com/AdamGaffney96 .

It's essentially non-existent for the moment but I'd love to have you all, and we can start to build our small community around people that just love music.
