From Himalayan donkeys to backroad philosophy, we chase rides that leave mud on the boots and questions in your head. Sometimes it’s range tests and gear fixes, sometimes it’s the kind of road that makes you rethink how fast life should go.

An old friend sent me this image. 1991. Young me and my first bike. A 1981 Kawasaki Z250A. Lasted a year on it, then fell off a postie bike on a farm and broke my collarbone. Had to take two months off playing piano, which you kind of need two functioning arms for. Still, never quite forgot the bike.

It was a full on week this week, with family matters, child, birthdays and such. I'd hoped to get the next episode of the Sri Lanka trip out. But it turned out to be much more involved than I'd thought. So this week we have something I wrote a while ago instead. I hope you like it.

It was my birthday yesterday. Dalma, thoughtful girl that she is, gave me this as a present. A beautiful album with the thumbnails from my videos. ❤️
What was interesting was to see how much the craft has improved. From barely legible thumbs for barely watched videos at the start to ones that people can actually read and subsequently watch.
I'm very lucky.
