What’s the one car you regret selling?
Mine is this 1994 Miata. It started life as a neglected 4-speed auto and a friend helped me build it into an ideal street/track car, 5-speed swap, manual steering rack from an R package, big grip with XIDA coilovers and 15x9 wheels. It was a little faster than stock with less weight and the 14° timing mod…headers and exhaust sounded perfect. No ac, radio, or soft top. Its one purpose was driving fun (going flat out to keep up with traffic on/off track).
It leaked oil, had a little bit of rust, and could’ve ended me once when a steering bolt came loose on track, but man it was fun.
Sold it to get something better, faster, more exotic…and it just wasn’t the same. I’ve bought many other cars since to replicate the fun of this Miata, a few got close but I guess that’s why they say Miata is always the answer.

Do you get lost on your way to Pilates class and end up on the Mojave trail? We did, and the G63 is incredible if you find yourself in this situation. Triple locked, plenty of ground clearance, side pipes.
Except that the $13,450 Offroad package doesn’t include Offroad tires. Predictably, we punctured a sidewall almost immediately. Pilates turned into tire-changing yoga and we got on our way.
Despite the drama, I’ll always have a soft spot for these things. They’re just so damn good. Also, side pipes.
