Hey everyone, I wanted to give you all a short update on the channel since its been a little over a couple of months since the last video I uploaded. Basically I've had to focus on other priorities in my life, and so haven't had as much time to commit to the channel. I also don't really see this situation changing any time soon.

That said, I am currently working on the next video, which will be part 1 of the story of Red Alert from the Soviet perspective. Unlike the original Allied story video (which was 2 hours long), I've decided to split the Soviet campaign into 3 separate videos, with each one being roughly 30 - 40 minutes long.

I've decided to split this topic up into 3 parts as I don't really enjoy making 1 or 2 hour plus long videos. For one, the volume of information required to gather and lay out in such videos combined with my presentation style (which requires a LOT of editing) makes them a slog to complete. I've also come to believe that just because a video is very long doesn't make it inherently more entertaining to watch. This brings me to another thing I've noticed with long form videos in general, and it's that they encourage viewers to just use them as background noise while doing some other activity, or have them playing on a second monitor while playing another game. Personally, I'd prefer to make videos that viewers will want to give their full attention to (at least for the first time they watch one), and so I think putting a limit on video length will help with that. I know that at the end of the day people will watch my videos however they see fit, but I think this change is still better overall.

The one exception to this rule will be when it comes to what I'll call "supercut" videos, which will just be one really long video that is a combination of previous videos I've already made. So as an example, when I complete all parts of the RA Soviet storyline, I would then combine them into one long video for those viewers who do prefer that longer format. I can tell you guys it's a lot easier to take a few already made videos and combine them into a single 2 hour plus long video, than it is to make that same 2 hour video from the ground up.

So yeah, that's pretty much it for this update. I'm hoping to have part 1 of the Soviet storyline uploaded sometime in May - hopefully within the first couple weeks of the month.

Going to be posting a couple of polls here this week and I'd appreciate you guys taking the time to participate in them as I'll be taking your answers into consideration for the future of the channel. I'll also be talking about the results of these polls in a December channel update video.

So, for this first one I've been wanting to do some non-C&C related videos and I'd like to know between the 2 major genres of fiction in video games (Fantasy and Sci-Fi) which are you most interested in? I'm including post-apocalyptic/dystopian in the "sci-fi" category as their technically a sub-genre of it. Might even do a follow up poll on sub-genres. For "other" category just let me know specifically in the comments. Also my goal with these other videos isn't to replace the C&C content, but to allow for a little more variety on the channel.

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update - the next Generals related video is still in the works. It's longer than the first one and it will probably be the longest video on the channel when it's done. As of making this post, I'd say it's roughly 70% finished. I don't want to spoil the topic of the video right now, but I'll give another update about it when the video is closer to being uploaded.
