With a larger youtube following, there comes an increase in requests for "partnerships". Many of these are scams, but even in genuine cases I respond and let them know that people are fed up being advertised to and I'm not interested. I was given these talents for free, so I share them freely too. If I was in this for the money, I'd have been out a long time ago 😄

To paraphrase the old saying about the tree falling in the woods - if a song gets played and no-one hears it, was it ever even a song?
I can't help but observe the internet/social media these days and be reminded of my first ever gig way back in the day.
I prepared all week, had all my songs picked out and nervously got up to the mic and waited for everyone to quiet down so I could start. I waited, gave a polite "hello" and waited some more. No-one gave a shit, so I ploughed on and they continued to carry on talking and drinking through every song, with the odd one or two offering a polite, brief applause if they noticed a song had ended.
Fast forward to today, and it's basically the same, but in a digital setting.
For the few of you who Facebook/YouTube chooses to show my posts, I appreciate you greatly. Thank you for seeing me through the crowd and listening over the din of a million other conversations.
