Madhumita said yes before she knew what she was saying yes to.
She arrived in Bengaluru from a village in West Bengal, speaking zero English. Swapaksh foundation placed her in 4th standard — she was 14. Her teachers told her: "We'll teach you from the basics." They meant it.
Two years later, she sat her Class 10 NIOS boards. She passed with 91.2%. She wrote about the whole journey herself — in English, the language she didn't speak when she arrived.
Then she said yes again — to 36 weeks of AI, alongside two other girls, in the same classroom.
Not for a grade. Because she'd already said yes once, and it worked out.
