My names Robby Rowland and my passion for the game of baseball was instilled in me from a very early age when my dad was playing in the Major Leagues. That passion led me to become the 88th Overall Pick in the 2010 MLB Draft as well as 10 Pro Seasons and counting. My goal is to provide you with the knowledge that I’ve accumulated throughout my journey to better equip you if you choose to embark on a journey within this beautiful game of baseball!

Things I’d encourage PITCHERS to ACTUALLY be DOING 👀

Early in my career, I thought getting better at pitching meant doing more “pitcher” things.

Majority of throws out of the leg lift
Limiting throws to “save my bullets”
Restricting distance because you pitch from 60 feet 6 inches
Fixating on every tiny mechanical detail in the video room
Constantly trying to look mechanically “perfect”

Before I knew it, I was DEEP inside a robotic rabbit hole.

I had lost the athletic simplicity in my throw that originally got me drafted

In this video, I breakdown what I believe pitchers should actually be doing instead — and how I’d train if I could go back and do it again.

If you’re a pitcher (or a parent of one), this one might save you a lot of wasted time.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever fallen into that same trap 👇

ATHLETIC Throw Variations PITCHERS Should Do..

A lot of pitchers get obsessed with “perfect mechanics”… and in the process, they forget how to move like athletes. We lose rhythm, timing, and flow… and everything starts to feel a bit forced.

In this video, I breakdown a few of my go-to Athletic Throw Variations to help Pitchers:
• Move more naturally
• Find better rhythm and tempo
• Throw with intent instead of tension
• Carry athletic movement over to the mound

Rather than chasing perfect mechanics, these variations create an environment where the body can self-organize and perform more naturally while teasing in some time constraints to force athletic adaptability given the task.

If you work with pitchers — or are one — this framework is worth exploring.

What can we learn about Velocity watching MLB Pitchers Mechanics 👀

In this video, I breakdown what consistently shows up across hard-throwing MLB arms — without turning mechanics into a one-size-fits-all checklist.

Pitching mechanics are highly individual. Everyone’s built differently, everyone moves differently. But when you zoom out and analyze elite pitchers, you do start to see common themes — especially when it comes to posture, timing, and how the body generates & captures energy that influences what we see as arm speed.
