Light pollution is one of the major concerning factors along with deforestation and other types of pollutions. Not only us, the proud homosapiens, but also other animals are effected by the worst effect of light pollution. Urbanization has made our sky dimmer over time. The beauty of the night sky is fading out due to humanity's overuse of lights during the night. Now a days we are using LED lights in our homes and streets, which is worsening the situation. Yes, of course LED lamps are energy efficient. But the LED lamps are so much more intense as compared to other lamps.
The pupil of our eyes controls the amount of light entering into our eyes. In the presence of more light, the size of the pupil become smaller to reduce light entering the eyes. So with more surrounding lights, it becomes hard to see stars.
For star gazers like me, it is 'noctalgic', missing out all the marvelous sight of watching the star filled sky.
