Roundabouts with a twist ...
They do exist...
While some municipalities elect to put artificial turf in the centre of their roundabouts, others may use concrete or just grass, but here in St. Thomas, it's just a simple 22' foot tall dandelion!
The dandelion metal artwork is called "Thriving Roots".
According to a City of St. Thomas city official, it's a symbol of resilience, growth and optimism, serving as a reminder that beauty can take root in even the toughest conditions.
The metalwork was created by British Columbia based blacksmith Kyle Thornley of Metal Mind Forge.
It can be viewed at the roundabout at Highbury Avenue and South Edgeware Road in the city's northeast.
