My wife was diagnosed with a rare lung disease called Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) in December 2017. I am using this channel to help raise awareness to the rare, progressive lung disease, Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). Through speed skating and video of life as a caregiver.

Most people obsess over hustle and “putting in the work,” but they barely mention the one thing that actually makes sustained effort possible: sleep and recovery.
The last couple of weeks at work have been nonstop, and last weekend didn’t let up. By this week, the fatigue had stacked up. I was running on fumes.
Motivational speakers and influencers love preaching grind culture, yet they rarely talk about how critical rest is for your brain and body to perform at a high level. Without it, focus, energy, decision-making, and strength all degrade.
Today I did something I almost never do: I took a nap. I knew I was tired, but I didn’t realize how deep the deficit was until I woke up. The difference was immediate—no forcing myself through basic tasks around the house. Energy returned. Clarity returned.
As a caregiver, I need to stay healthy and keep my mind as sharp as possible to take care of my wife. That means treating sleep and recovery as non-negotiable, not optional.
Sleep isn’t a weakness—it’s the foundation. Tell someone it doesn’t matter and watch how fast their performance, mood, and ability to show up collapse when they skip it. The body and mind keep score. Ignore recovery long enough, and the grind stops working.
Prioritize sleep. Everything else, including the ability to care for the people who depend on you, gets easier when you do. #caregivers

Once a month, I go through every vial, every box-taking inventory of all the Veletri and supplies. After that, I place an order for whatever is missing, whatever is needed to keep going. It’s a routine now. But imagine having to do this… just to stay alive.

The last 9 years she has only been able to get in the water a handful l of times. Between the precautions that need to be taken so that her cad pump will not get wet and then the anxiety of thinking the CADD pump getting wet. It is not worth actually getting into the water.
