Thank you for being the foundation of all of our families. Thank you for showing us what it means to work hard, to stay curious and always search for answers, to live life to its fullest, and to stand firmly by your values. But most of all, thank you for showing us what true love really looks like.
Some of the happiest memories of my life were the summers when you and Grandma stayed with us in Canada, golfing together, drinking ice cold beer, picking blueberries, cooking up a storm in the kitchen with Grandma, and ending the day sipping on wine.
My grandpa is SO cool. Truly, so, so cool. You have always been someone we looked up to and admired. This past week, we spent every moment talking about all the incredible things you’ve done in your life, all the places you’ve been, all the memories we’ve shared, and all the little things you did to make sure every single one of us knew we were loved.
Thank you, Grandpa. You worked so hard your entire life, and now it’s our turn to make sure you can rest peacefully. We promise to take care of Grandma, to honor everything you taught us, and to live life fully, with kindness, curiosity, integrity, and love, just like you did.
You gave us so much more than memories. You gave us a way to live.
We love you forever.

As 2025 comes to an end, I wanted to slow down and really reflect on this year. It was my first full calendar year without my dad. Even putting this post together felt strange … this was the first time flipping through a full year of memories and realizing there wasn’t a single photo of him in the album.
Grief does that to you. As time keeps moving forward, it brings this quiet mix of sadness and anxiety … because time doesn’t wait. There’s no pause button, no way to go back. Life keeps going, even when your heart isn’t ready.
2025 became the year I lived moment by moment. I leaned fully into the present and made the most of everything in front of me. I don’t regret a single thing. I made beautiful memories, formed meaningful friendships, traveled to places I once only dreamed of, and even ran two half marathons. It was a year full of life.
But if I’m being honest, it was also a year where I tried, sometimes unconsciously … to put my grief on pause. I thought about my dad every single day. I cried more than I ever thought I could. But I just wanted to LIVE. I didn’t want to think too far ahead, and I couldn’t bear to look too far back. Living in the moment felt safer, because I wasn’t ready to fully face the reality that this, life without my dad … is my future.
If 2025 was the year I survived by staying present, then 2026 is the year I’m ready to return to myself. This year, I want to live honestly. To sit with the sadness. To fully feel the joy when it shows up. To move through grief instead of around it.
So here’s to 2025 … the year I needed to remind me that life is still worth living, and that if you look closely enough, there is always light. And here’s to 2026 … the year I choose to live honestly.
HELLO FROM TAIWAN 🫶🏻🇹🇼 sorry I’ve been a little MIA lately, I spent the past month back home in Taiwan with my family. It was our first trip all together without my dad, so I really wanted to slow down and soak in every moment.
I filmed a vlog while we were there and JUST finished editing it… and honestly, it might be one of my favourite vlogs ever.
I’m so grateful I got to document this trip dedicated to my dad and share it with you all 🥹
I wanted to share a special moment 🫶🏻 I know not everyone believes in signs, but last year on one of my hardest days, I asked my dad to send me one. I told him, “if I’m ever really sad, send me a blue jay so I know you’re still here.”
Since then, blue jays have become our sign. They’ve shown up on my birthday, his birthday, his one-year, and yesterday … right when I was having a really tough emotional day (yes, full breakdown at the nail salon 😅). I looked up, and not one, but two blue jays flew by. I couldn’t help but smile.
Whether it’s truly a sign from him or not, I’ve learned to notice the little things. Because even on your darkest days, if you slow down and look closely, there’s always something small that can bring you back a bit of joy. 💙
Ok friends… I know it’s only September 🫣 but I’m already counting down to the holidays!! ✨ This year I want to do a mix of fun + helpful things, so I’m planning ahead. Out of these, what would you be MOST excited to see?
🎄 Free Holiday Cookbook: 10 never-before-seen recipes! I’d love to get this out by the end of October so you can use it all season long. Downloadable, easy to follow, cozy recipes.
🎥 Holiday Recipe Series: instead of all at once, I’d roll out 1 recipe per week (short video + blog post), this is for those that prefer visual learning instead
🎁 Vlogmas: daily vlogs from Dec 1–24 (send help 😂) but also sooo fun to share cozy daily life, eats during the holidays.
No video today but Korea vlog will be out in a few days 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 just finalizing a few finishing touches. One of the best travel vlogs I filmed this year and I cannot wait to share 🥹
I AM IN TAIWAN 🇹🇼 spending sometime with my family and also visiting my dad / his hometown.
