Not just becausd I had no phone signal so could switch off for the first time in around 7 years since 😂

👉 This is a 8 week program that acts as your FIRST 8 weeks of sorting your nutrition and training shite out.
So no crash diets or quick fixes. An 8 week fat loss phase where we include a diet break + a after fat loss phase strategy to prevent you from fucking yourself
With a 8 week training program to push the tits out of your personal bests or help you find your feet with strength training if you're new to this gig 💜

Over the last 7 days I've started a lil challenge
I get CONSISTENT comments on social media stating dropping body fat is not possible with sweet/processed foods
I pride myself in being a petty fuck so am documenting 30 days of eating something "fattening" everyday while still losing body fat
And since I've started? I've travelled 3 days for work, 2 days for a wedding, consumed donuts, chocolate, fish and chips, cake, a couple pints
And so far this week hip and waist measurements are down 1cm each and scale weight is averaging 0.4kg this week so far compared to last. For sure, this data is too early to say if this is clear body fat reductions and guess time will tell to see if it continues 👀
But to make this happen I'm planning my day around the treaty goodness - packing other meals with plants/protein/satiation
Then making sure I'm sticking to my weekly calories
While keeping to 10k steps/day + 3 weight sessions/week
To be real - this week is fucking far away from a "perfect week" for fat loss. A bunch of chances to say "fuck it" with having a lot out of my control with my routine this week.
But this is IMO, the importance of the challenge - showing how imperfect action compounds to INSANE things, especially when compared to occasional perfect action (which keeps most people stuck on their dieting efforts)

Something VERY special happened this week
After near 8 years of gentle suggestions
Mumma Henley went to the gym and lifted weights for the first time
And this is why for me, it’s so bloody special
...
Mumma H has been 21 for 46 years
(nearly 67 in those of you that use the boring aging system)
She’s always loved being active;
Swimming, hiking, yoga, gardening
They’re all her bag
But recently - she’s noticed that she’s started to lose a few things
Like being able to stand up off the floor after pruning her roses (I don’t know if roses are pruned, I do not garden)
Her muscle mass around her legs, visibly reducing significantly
As well as navigating the bastard that is diabetes
So after I cornered her to say, “mother - getting jacked will really help all of those things suck significantly less”
She gave in and came to the gym with me
I’ve known my mum for a while
So I know pretty well when she’s fucking stressed out
And as she walked into the gym for the first time and saw all the machines and sweaty gym folk I’ll tell you,
She was fucking stressed out
She said she felt overwhelming, daunting. How the hell do you know where to start??
So I took her to the quiet corner of the gym to warm up, before taking her through what I know to be the “fun” machines
AKA the leg press, the cable row, chest press
As we were going through the sets she shared this;
“I was really daunted coming here. The machines look so complicated. But now I’m in it, it’s really quite fun??”
My reply being,
“The gym is literally like a playground for adults. Welcome to the cult”
Lol
Wiggling forwards, we’ve set the goal to weight train 1-2x/week alongside her gardening & swimming
The goals we’ve set are to be able to do a set of lunges without assistance
To build back her muscle mass to support her diabetes + overall ability to move without pain
Which will add up to being able to get up off the ground without her vertebrae calling her a bastard
& give her the best opportunity to do what she loves for as many years as she can
Now I know,
Not all of you have a daughter who is a personal trainer that can show you the ropes
