A baby was reportedly shot after the child's mother allegedly attempted to run over a police officer. Both the mother and her friend may face child endangerment and other criminal charges.

No one can excuse what happened. While I understand that many people are facing difficult times, there is never a reason to place a child in a dangerous situation. The safety of the baby should have come first.

This is a tragic situation, and if the allegations are true, the mother should be held accountable for her actions and face the appropriate criminal charges.

Should Black Americans be upset when other ethnic groups are cast to portray their historical figures, legends, and cultural icons in movies and television? I believe they have a legitimate reason to be frustrated. I support their frustration 100 percent, and I support their arguments and fight

At the same time, the frustration may be directed at the wrong people. A Black American actor could not simply go to Nigeria and expect to play a major Yoruba historical figure or cultural legend. Why? Because Nollywood is a Nigerian-controlled industry. Nigerians largely control the studios, financing, casting decisions, and storytelling, allowing them to protect and prioritize their own cultural narratives.

Hollywood operates differently. The major studios, production companies, and decision-makers ultimately determine who gets cast and which stories get told. Actors generally do not control those decisions. If Black Americans feel underrepresented or believe their stories should be told by people from their own community, the real issue is with the power structure that makes those casting choices, not necessarily the individual actors who accept the roles.

History has shown how difficult it can be to tell certain stories without control of the industry. Even acclaimed filmmaker Spike Lee struggled to secure funding for Malcolm X and had to seek financial support outside the traditional Hollywood system to complete the film.

I understand and sympathize with the concerns many Black Americans raise about representation and cultural ownership. However, lasting change comes from building and controlling institutions—studios, production companies, distribution networks, and sources of financing. Ownership creates influence. Without ownership and decision-making power, concerns can be raised repeatedly yet still go unheard by those who control the industry.

The conversation should not only be about who gets cast, but also about who owns the platforms, controls the funding, and has the authority to decide which stories are told.

God bless America. I pray every day for this country. People complain about everything, go live somewhere else, and find out how bad other countries are.

Everyone is crashing out.I was in Baltimore city today, i saw two black ladies fight over a parking space. There were other parking spaces open, but both ladies had to fight over the closest one.

Just mind your business on and offline. People are acting insane out here . Just let it go.
