Coming this weekend: our West Highland Way video. For those not familiar with it, the West Highland Way is Scotland's most famous walk, 96 miles from Milngavie (just outside Glasgow) all the way to Fort William in the Highlands. We took our time to make sure we enjoyed it, which meant nine days hiking and staying in accommodation to lighten the load on our backs! The first video will cover the full walk, and then the following video will be very different, a behind-the-scenes look at the logistics including travel, hotels, hostels, cabins, tents, food, 'what's in the bag', etc etc! This means two BIG videos to come. I don't like making content too long, but there is good reason for doing it this way - even if we did the hike over two episodes, viewing figures drop significantly on a second part, whether if it's a better video or not. So it's ALL going to be there for you to watch at your leisure, even if it takes nine days like us ;)
ALSO: Look out for a little charity auction coming off the back of this expedition. We're still finalising details, but as soon as it's live, you'll be the first to know! We are excited to support Scottish Mountain Rescue again, they certainly earn it up there in the hills and mountains of Scotland! Thanks, and see you Saturday...

As the UK heat wave hits, was it sweltering in Montrose? Find out in a last-minute video tomorrow (Monday, 10am UK time). And the Lerwick video is out Tuesday at 10am (where I can guarantee no heat, but maybe some waves). Hope you are all well!

No Tuesday video this week, but there will be one next week. It was another solo trip and the photo gives you a clue, but I'll keep you guessing :) So that'll be Saturday and Tuesday covered and thereafter Alicja will be back at my side for a very long walk (and a very long walk means a couple of very long videos!). Back to work Stephen...

VIDEO UPDATE:
A few of you have (understandably) been asking about when a QM2 full voyage video will be released, so here's an update and explanation for its delay. We've had a couple of intense, long trips recently (such as West Highland Way) and more on the horizon, so the truth is it's been tricky keeping the priority of Saturday (and occasional midweek) videos on schedule. A bigger edit like Southampton to Sydney is one I just need to keep chipping away at as and when I have free time. It will come together eventually, but I can't put a date on it yet I'm afraid. And when it does appear it'll probably be quite fragmented due to the massive number of clips crammed into the final edit. That being said, I don't want to just rush it out, it deserves proper attention. We are away again next week, but the laptop is coming with us and the editing will continue at pace! Hope your weekend is going well, and see you next Saturday :)

Good evening! There will be a video on Tuesday (10am UK Time). Editing opportunities have been limited recently, so it'll be a bit rough and ready. But at least that suits the scenery! See you there...

Hello from Beinglas Campsite. A short, tough 4th day on the West Highland Way, but the sun is still shining on us. We stay in a tent box tonight, it’ll be ‘cosy’ :) Hope You’re all having a great weekend!

Tomorrow: a hike up a volcano. Just a regular Tuesday then! No mid-weeker NEXT Tuesday though, we're off for a crack at the West Highland Way (no I won't be editing during that!) And as we round off the big winter trip, the mid-weekers will go back to more 'occasional bonus' videos anyway, but still plenty to come, stay tuned! Thanks as always, Steve & Alicja

I was asked a few times on the Devonport video if I had any photos from back in the day, so I had a good rummage about, but came up with very little. Times were different then, no camera on our mobile, in fact no mobile! I found a couple though from golf outings. The first one was from Gulf Harbour I think - it was a real treat to play there. The second one from Waitemata in Devonport, where you can clearly see Mount Victoria in the background - it was still there! (I think we were celebrating me making a birdie at the dog-leg 15th featured in the video). And the third from one of my favourite places on earth - Muriwai over on the west coast beaches. Three photos, three courses. Tells a tale of how I spent my days off, eh? I found loads of other photos too, but of places and other people rather than myself (selfies weren't a thing back then I guess). But where we don't have photos we have sharper memories. Oh there's a Sydney photo there too, but with an old camera on self-timer, you can barely see me! Somehow though Sydney looks a lot different, quieter! I think it'd be almost impossible today to compose a photo like this with nobody else in shot. And finally, what did I do for work? Well here's an old business card - I don't even remember making it to the lofty position of 'Duty Manager' :D Anyway, that's all folks!

Hi, I've FINALLY tidied up/re-categorised the 'Playlist' tab on my channel (it's been on the 'to-do' list for a while). This should make it easier to find the videos/themes you are looking for. It was a bit of a manual process with 450+ videos and took a few hours, so please excuse any mistakes. Cheers.

Tomorrow's video will cover the flight from Sydney across the ditch to Auckland. And thereafter the next couple of Saturday vlogs will take on a more personal twist as I reminisce in a place I used to live. I know these might not be up everyone's street, but hopefully you'll take something from them and see a few nice places along the way. They were very important for me to document. Oh and NEXT Tuesday, look out for a trip to a volcanic island, somewhere I'd never been before...
It's hard to believe that'll be us coming to the end of our big winter excursion, it's been a blast! Thanks so much for sharing this once in a lifetime experience with us, we appreciate you all :)
