In my latest video with Arpit on Soumya's channel (posted as collab on our channel) - my comments are not showing up to many. Maybe I am restricted to comment or some glitch. I have left some imp comments. Anyway one of the main ones is this.

With regard to the disclaimer added in the beginning of the video by the moderator pls make a following note.
-
I never made any claim. Arpit made a claim that plant protein is inferior. I asked him for evidence, he didn’t know. I asked him a basic question on how protein quality is assessed, he didn’t know. To be generous to him, I explained where this viewpoint comes from (PDCAAS). So i steel-manned his point and then presented why his viewpoint is not solid and cited research for that. Technically burden of proof is on him.
-
However this is a common misconception so here are the papers that i talked about. (for some reasons, links not working here in comment so just giving PMIDs)

PDCAAS is not an accurate measure of protein digestibility.
PMID 16001875 (The Protein Digestibility-Corrected Amino Acid Score (PDCAAS)--a concept for describing protein quality in foods and food ingredients: a critical review)

Fecal digestibility doesn’t account for gut bacteria that also absorb undigested protein
PMC9039920 (What we know about protein gut metabolites: Implications and insights for human health and diseases)

Hypertrophy outcome related:

PMID 33599941 (High-Protein Plant-Based Diet Versus a Protein-Matched Omnivorous Diet to Support Resistance Training Adaptations: A Comparison Between Habitual Vegans and Omnivores)

on Science direct - Vegan and Omnivorous High Protein Diets Support Comparable Daily Myofibrillar Protein Synthesis Rates and Skeletal Muscle Hypertrophy in Young Adults

I am currently reading the book Black Swan. I read few years back but appreciating it more now. A very good book that underlines the various thinking flaws humans have.

What are you reading?
