I was afraid this day would come...

We’re now seeing AI-generated ‘rescue’ videos.

And it’s frustrating.

Because none of it is real. No dogs are actually being saved. No lives are changing. It’s just fictional stories designed to look emotional.

And the dangerous part is… it can set completely unrealistic expectations of what rescue work actually looks like.

Real rescue is messy. It takes time. It doesn’t always go perfectly.

The only upside is it might bring more eyes onto rescue dogs, but in a way that makes it seem like progression is linear and easy, and it's not.

The scary part is, it now looks so realistic, and reading through the comments, most people don't even realise it's AI.

Somebody sitting behind a screen, creating fictional videos every single day about dogs that don't exist, whilst there are so many real dogs out there actually in shelters struggling, it just doesn't sit right with me.

I hope YouTube does something about this.

Because at the end of the day, real dogs need real help, not fake stories.

When we first rescued Scout, he was so scared, he would hide away in fear. He didn’t trust anyone.

But now… he’s beginning to take a few brave steps.

Moments like this are why we do what we do. Watching a rescue dog slowly realise the world isn’t so scary anymore is the most rewarding feeling.

Because of stories like Scout’s, we’ve actually been nominated for Pet Creator of the Year.

Every vote will help push rescue dogs like Scout onto a bigger stage.
