WHAT IS COMPUTE?
Compute is the raw computational hardware power required to build and run AI. Compute is measured in FLOPs (Floating-Point Operations) and it physically manifests as massive, humming clusters of advanced graphics processing units (GPUs) and tensor processing units (TPUs).
Compute represents the physical infrastructure required for two distinct phases:
(1) Training: Pushing petabytes of data through a neural network so it can learn patterns.
(2) Inference: Generating a response in real-time every single time a user types a prompt.
Data is abundant, but the specialized silicon chips required to process that data are scarce. Compute acts as the ultimate gatekeeper of AI capability; whoever controls the compute controls the pace of innovation.

NO MORE AI IN NORWEGIAN SCHOOLS?
Norway is imposing a near-ban on generative AI for elementary students starting late August. After banning smartphones in 2024, the government wants to refocus on the basics: reading, writing, and math—using real books. The PM says AI risks letting kids skip critical steps in their education.
Drop a 👍 if you think schools should go back to basics, or a 👎 if you think kids need to learn AI early!

Is Fable 5 /Mythos 5, the Y2K of AI times? Maybe worse. With Y2K, we knew when and what problems to solve. With Mythos, we don't even know what we don't know.
And the opportunities it is creating? Those are going to be massive.
Universities, colleges, schools should not worry about plagiarism and AI generated content; instead teach skills that make AI tools fail, and then improve AI tools. Sharpen the AI blade.
Like it or not, AI is here to stay.
