Rudy Ray Moore aka Dolemite
My Filmmaking Destiny Father

Working with Rudy on three films over the course of 8 years was a highpoint in my life. Seeing his ultimate classic, " The Human Tornado", during a midnight screening while in the Army was a mind blowing experience that altered my DNA. He left an indelible impression that infuses all of my work, teaching me the much needed lesson of unqiue self expression. His words to me still ring loudly until this day. "They may see your talent, but they will never acknowledge your potential, you have to do that ..….. I fear you may be like me , becoming famous only AFTER you are gone"; words of profound wisdom that became both his and my truth.

Being in Rudy's life exposed me to a lot of Hollywood's legends, because of him I got to meet people like Quentin Tarantino, Michael Mann, Cameron Diaz , Jamie Foxx , Magic Johnson, Louie Anderson, John Amos, Rich Little and Paul Mooney just to name a few. And what was always amazing to witness is that each one of these persons held Rudy Ray Moore in high regard as if he was Hollywood royalty, with all due respect. Not bad huh.

Rudy represented something raw, powerful, and unfiltered, a little rough around the edges and unrefined, lacking the standard corporate sheen. Despite his critics, he has left a legacy that inspired the most successful film comedian of all time to tell his life story in order to resuscitate his career. How bout that. That is the power of Rudy Ray Moore as his legacy lives within me and I promise, DOLEMITE WILL RETURN.

Thanks Rudy, you were one bad m***********.

P.S. I am very excited for people to see the new version of Vampire Assassin, "Ultimate Vampire Assassin" , which has more Rudy Ray Moore doing what he does best, talking s*** and taking names, while I do my thing.

The Elusiveness of Stardom and the absolutely great Chin Sui Ho.

Shaw brother great, Chin Sui Ho seemingly had it all; the looks, the charm, the raw talent and the visibly developed ability to be one of the greatest crossover talents Shaw Brothers ever produced, but the timing sucked.

With his power, grace and elegance in which he would effortlessly transition from one complicated stance to another, all with a rhythmic ease, and effortless grace that rivals the very best of them, he truly was a great emerging talent, poised to conquer the martial world.

But unfortuently, entering on the tail end of the Shaw studio decline, he was never able to grab his international shining star that was just out of reach. He would continue to do great work in hit films like, "Mr Vampire" and "The Seventh Curse", and later find global recognition in the Jet Li films, "Tai Chi Master" and his iconic turn in the classic, "Fist of Legend". Despite that, fans for generations acknowledge him and his easily identifiable and undeniable greatness as a TRUE superstar of the genre and hold him in high esteem to this very day.

So as fans, lets celebrate and honor him, and his crowd pleasing legacy by watching this masterful scene from "Masked Avengers", that displays why is he one of the very best who has ever done it..
